OBJECTIVES:
a. Raise awareness about social issues by analyzing the cause and effect relationships; and
b. Make connections on particular issues to relate it to real life situations.

SUBJECT MATTER: Mind the Issues/Cause and Effect Relationship


Strategies/ Techniques: collaborative learning, recitation, board work,
Instructional Materials: chalk and board, bond paper and pencil
Reference  A Journey Through Anglo- American Literature
Materials/Sources:

LEARNING PROCEDURE:
Review of the Previous  Review performance as an element of a play.
Lesson:
Motivation:  Ask students to share their greatest depressions in life.
Lesson Proper:
 Present the day’s objectives.
 Provide students a historical background of the, Greatest Depression in the US during the 1920’s.
 Distribute copies of the reading text to the students. Unlock vocabulary.
 Silent reading by the students.
 Facilitate discussion of the text with the use of the comprehension questions on LM.
Activity/ies:
 Have the students draw illustrations about the Great Depression. ( They should be able to put into
drawings how they visualize the situation)
