Bruner's Constructivist Theory

This document outlines a lesson plan for teaching a literary piece called "The Cliff" to 9th grade students using Bruner's constructivist learning theory. The plan involves three levels: an enactive level where students do a speech choir on the piece, an iconic level where they make posters reflecting on it, and a symbolic level where they explain their posters. The teacher will then build upon the students' presentations by integrating biblical reflections and presenting character and theme analyses from a biblical perspective using discovery learning.

Choose a topic related to your field of specialization. Write a simple plan on how to
teach this topic using Bruner’s principle.

Topic: Integrating the Literary piece “The Cliff”

Year level: Grade 9

Enactive level: The students will be having a speech choir into the literary piece.

Iconic level: The students will be having a poster making as a reflection to the literary piece.

Symbolic level: The students will explain the essence of their poster in front of the class.

How will you apply the spiral curriculum approach in this topic?

- The teacher will give the main integration of that literary piece based on the students’
presentation. He/she will fuse that knowledge and present a biblical reflection in relation to the
topic.

Describe how you can use discovery learning for this topic.

- The teacher will present character analysis, character growth analysis, and world view analysis
in relation to the literary piece. Then he/she will fuse that knowledge based on biblical
perspective.
