JOURNAL
G L O B P L A N T
My story.

I believe in anything created from passion. I hope you do too. This journal is my greatest example of
passionate heat that you can get during the process of creation. I hopped on the journey to discover
myself quite a long time ago, and it does not look like it will end any time soon. Realizing that made
me the happiest I could ever be in my life. I am looking forward to more experiences, self-exploration,
and all the secret gems of life hidden in the undiscovered, structured, and complex way of being.

I am hoping to help you with your journey through rediscovering your approach to life and simple
matters. I would like you to slow down and go deeper to learn things about yourself that you are not
even aware of yet.

These kinds of journeys require patience and eagerness to try. There are no bad actions undertaken;
there are no bad answers; each answer is an answer. If at some point you feel like you do not
understand your answers, and your thoughts start taking you off well-known scenarios, that is a sign
you are on a good path. Buckle your seatbelt and enjoy it.

Who am I?

I would be curious about the person who is standing behind that

journey idea as well. Smile to your friend through this journey,
Sara. An over-analytical and detail-obsessed girl, who is
constantly seeking excitement from life.

How to use this journal.

I believe there is no good answer to that, and I would like to keep it this way. I will, of course, give
you some hints on how the journal works for me, but please do not feel obliged to follow all what is
described here. I want you to find your unique way of getting to know yourself, and I hope that this
tool will help you in that.

Since I strive to share my content free of any charge to make it accessible for everyone interested in
self-exploration, you have received this file in an electronic version, which you can use to suit your
needs. I recommend printing and keeping it next to your bed, so it will be easily reachable right after
you wake up and before you head over to the dream world.

I have put each task on a separate sheet of paper, so you can print the exact number of copies you
need at that very moment. Later on, you can easily print more copies for the next months and add
them to your already-printed journal.

I would love to see your creativity through that journey, so feel free to tag me on Instagram by
adding the @globeplant account to your stories and posts.

Unwind Yourself.
Feeling overwhelmed with all that surrounds you is totally normal. Based on my experience, I know
that my mood can switch from being the happiest person alive to feeling the strong wave of
loneliness and lack of purpose in life. I struggle with this every day, and I know I am not the only one.
During the social distancing time, it hit me harder, so I figured out a ritual that always works for me
when I feel down. I hope that this little cheat sheet will help you to also find the balance in these
uncertain times.

BREATHE.
To explain further, for me, breathing was a big game-changer. You do not even need to sit down for
several minutes or use the fancy apps to guide you through it. Just stop and breathe, breathe in and
out. You got it.

JOURNAL.
Again, do not think too much about it, just free the monkey in your brain. Write down everything that
goes through your mind. You can do it when you wake up, before falling asleep or even while waiting
for that next cup of tea to be ready.

LISTEN.
Catch up on the music, podcasts, and books you have not had time for before. Create playlists based
on your mood. Listen to all that surrounds you; it could be the bird that’s sitting on the tree next to
your house or the boiling water that will soon be flooding in your coffee.

SELF CARE.
You are worthy, you are beautiful, and you want to feel good. Take care of yourself in whatever way
you can. Read a book, touch yourself, put that fancy face mask on, and enjoy yourself and your time.

MOVE.

Do not forget to move your body. Your body is your temple in which you will spend your whole life,
so take care of it. Eat what you think will be good for you, and move to make your body happy. You
can run, you can take a walk or just dance all the emotions off.

COMMUNICATE.
Feel free to express how you feel, find the community or people who will be willing to listen to you.
Trust me, it is not easy sometimes, but keep looking. I am sure they will find you at the right time. Join
a forum, create a subreddit, call your friends, your family. Just do not keep everything to yourself; we
are beings who love being part of communities. Do not be afraid of that.

Why "why" has a superpower?
Start journaling by asking yourself three simple questions. For me, these three simple-looking
questions became the hardest I encountered. They completely blew my mind and changed my
approach to many aspects of my life. So, take it easy; there are no bad answers. This may provoke a
lot of different feelings for each of us. When I first started asking myself these questions, I figured out
that I am living in a survival-mood. I was not living my life but always waiting for something better
and bigger in the future. That approach is not bad, but it cost me a lot of disappointments and not
feeling unfulfilled in that very moment. Why bother, you would ask? By using "why" at the beginning
of your questions, I hope you will be able to find the true reason for each action you are undertaking.

So, why?
Everything we do, we believe in challenging the status quo. Take your time and think about the three
first questions that come to your mind. Then, try to convert that question into a question with "why" at
the beginning.

Example: Meet Suzie. She is wondering when she will finally meet the love of her life? That is a
question for which we do not have an exact answer for now, but what if she asks, "why she wants to
meet the love of her life?" That completely changes the game. Now, she can think about why she
craves love so badly. By answering that question, she figured out that finding the love of her life in the
shape of a partner is not actually what she’s seeking. That is just a socially biased answer. Instead, she
figured out that what she is looking for is attention and a need for taking care of someone. A few
months later, she is the happiest in her life, running her non-profit organization that fights for
immigrant's rights for education and health care. Her needs were met in a completely different
scenario from what she imagined in the beginning. I hope that showed you the power of "why." Now,
it is your turn to reach for it.

Your turn.

1.

2.

3.

If you are still looking for a question to ask yourself, I have prepared a few universal ones that will help
you start your journey with "why." Here are some of my favorite ones:

Why are you waking up in the morning?

Why do you do what you do? What's your purpose?
Why have you reached for this book?

Gratitude.

The next tool that improved my relationship with myself and my surroundings is gratitude. The first
time I got to know this method was probably when I was still in high school. However, the moment
when I actually started using it was when I went abroad. I went to the other side of the globe to the
United States for a year as part of a cultural exchange program, and I still remember my first
Thanksgiving that brought my thankfulness to another level.

I come from Poland, a country where we do not celebrate Thanksgiving, and personally, I have a feeling
that most of our celebrations in terms of national holidays are relevant but have this pensiveness
background and undertone. Celebrating a holiday that focuses on positive aspects, such as
Thanksgiving, taking a moment to rethink your actions, relations, and approaches to many things has
shown me a different way of building a relationship with life. I know that this will not be something
new for most of my audience from the US, but I would really love to introduce that to your daily life and
not just leave it for that one special day during the year.

Ready to get started?

Before we start writing down what we are grateful for each day, I would like you to think about three
aspects of your life you are grateful for at that very moment. It could be a place, a person, a relation, a
feeling. Once again, there is no bad answer to it.

I AM GRATEFUL FOR ...

I AM GRATEFUL FOR ...

I AM GRATEFUL FOR ...

Challenge yourself.
You got it, and it seems beautiful. Would you like to challenge yourself? Do you remember our previous
exercise? In the one above, you have just written what you are grateful for. I want you to take a deep
breath now. Are you ready? Could you now stop and ask yourself "why" you are grateful for each of
those aspects?

Mood.

Why do I believe understanding our feelings at a particular time or day is important? Each of us
goes through life with a full range of moods and emotions. You know when we are feeling "in the
mood," but what does "mood" actually mean, and where does it come from?

Moods are natural parts of your emotional rhythm. They are usually caused by a particular trigger,
such as an action or experience. Sometimes, you may not feel the control over certain events, but
there are some which you can achieve and work on. A good example is yoga practice or
mediation, as you are welcoming peacefulness as a result. Of course, we tend to prefer to be
always "in the mood," but even when you feel bad - the negative mood can be a useful indicator
of a problem that needs to be tackled.

By being more aware of your moods, you can better manage your life, your lifestyle, the choices
you are making, or the people that surround you. This self-monitoring tool is easy if you stay
consistent, and you are eager to understand the complexity of your moods and reasons behind
them.

I like to keep the journal next to my bed and track my mood at the end of each day, just before I reach
for a book that sends me to sleep. After checking with my mood, I ask myself a question: why?
Why do I feel this way today? Why am I sad? Why am I happy?

Habits.

Most of us go through our days without taking many moments to pause and reflect on what we're
doing. We often feel guilty at the end of the day when we realize that we have not done most of
the things that were on our minds. How many times did you plan to work out but ended up
scrolling through the endless feeds on social media instead? It happens to me all the time unless
I take the time to think about habits that I want to have accomplished at the end of the day. What
if you realize that habits are the compound interest of self-improvement? Once you start taking
notes on the habits you wish to follow, you are one step further. A habit is a behavior that has
been repeated enough times to become automatic.

Get a piece of paper now and write down the habits that you wish to engage in the most. Keep
track of them, and you will see how more pleasant they become. One month from now, they will
be part of your daily life. From there, you will just look for new ones and the challenges attached
to them before you even know it.
