HCI Assignment Assignment#4

The document summarizes a heuristic evaluation of a website conducted by a group. It includes an executive summary describing the goals of evaluating task scheduling algorithms' efficiency. It also describes the evaluation methodology, user profiles, evaluators' environments, and analysis of the top five problems found. These problems are presented with illustrative screenshots and descriptions.

Heuristic Evaluation of the Web Site

Report of XXth April 2013

{My instructions and comments are contained inside curly brackets. Remove them before you hand in
your work!}

1 Executive Summary:
1.1 ABSTRACT:
The task scheduling on VMs in cloud Datacenters is becoming complex due to increase of users and
applications. We use CloudSim framework to simulate different algorithms that can efficiently schedule
the tasks on the VMs. The end results show the difference in the efficiency of these algorithms and
highlight the most efficient algorithm for task scheduling.

1.2 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

Following are our objectives keeping in mind the problems mentioned above:
 To design a dynamic task scheduler using efficient algorithms such as Greedy, IBA algorithm that
distributes all tasks among the VMs efficiently decreasing the energy and time consumption.
 To determine the best servers for VM migration by keeping the SLA (Service Level Agreement)
in check.

2 Evaluation Methodology
According to Jacob Nielsen, Heuristic Evaluation is an evaluation technique which is used to find flaws
and shortcomings in the user interface of a user application or a website. These identified shortcomings
can then be attended and rectified during the software iterative design process.

3 User Profiles

12/12/13 Heuristic Evaluation Report
{Describe the kinds of user your product is trying to attract.}

{Group these users into categories according to their characteristics.}

{Describe the tasks these different kinds of user might want to perform.}

4 Extent of the Evaluation

{Describe which parts of the interface were evaluated (if there was too much to evaluate it all).}

5 Evaluators and Evaluation Environment

The hardware and software used by each evaluator is shown in Table 1.

{Tabular overview of the different evaluators and their evaluation environments: demographic data,
hardware, browser, type and speed of internet connection, etc.}

6 Analysis of the Main Problems

{One paragraph and screen shot for each of the top five most severe problems.}

{Screen shots should always be captured in PNG format, since PNG is lossless and has very good
compression. Make scaled-down versions of the screen shots for here (approximately 600 by 400), which
you can edit (draw on) to highlight your point, but also link to local copies of the unedited full-size
originals.}
