Product: Z Series
Tech Guide: Remote Display
Introduction
This technical guide will provide instructions on how to configure and connect a Z series Master
indicator to another Z series indicator setup as a Remote indicator. The Remote indicator keys
will perform the same functions as the keys on the Master indicator. In the example the default
settings for the Com Ports will be assumed; 9600 Baud, 8 Data Bits, No Parity, 1 Stop Bit. The
Master indicator Com Port 1 and Protocol 1 will be left for use with a connected printer.

In this example the Master indicator will use Protocol 2 set for Broadcast on Com Port 2 using
print format #7, a pre-defined print format for use with remote displays. Inhib (motion inhibit)
and Rate can be left in the default settings. The Remote indicator will use Protocol 1 set for
Remote Display on Com Port 1.
