• "C++ Runtime" or "Maxlink3.dll" errors should no longer appear


when launching PaperPort 9. Please follow Tech Note 2881 to
launch PaperPort and access the patch.
• PaprPort.exe, MFC42.dll, and Kernel32.dll errors should no
longer appear when launching PaperPort. Please follow Tech
Note 2886 to launch PaperPort and access the Patch.
• The PaperPort Desktop should no longer appear distorted when
launching PaperPort in the windowed state.
• Duplicating an Excel file as a PDF file will retain all of the Excel
worksheets.
• If TextBridge or OmniPage is installed, it will be listed in the
"Send To" link options.
• PaperPort 9 can now open JPEG files with the alternate
.JPE/.JPEG extension.
• Copying, Cutting, or Cropping an image in PaperPort PageViewer
should no longer cause PaperPort to close.
• Black lines or inverted color should no longer appear when
copying part of a color image and pasting it onto a black and
white image.
• The message that changes have been made to the global
template "Normal.dot" should no longer appear when restarting
your computer or working in Microsoft Office Applications.
• The "Arrange Items by Date" option from the context menu
should work properly when right-clicking on the PaperPort
Desktop.
• The "Arrange" button will now retain the last arrange option
selected from the drop-down menu. To change the "Arrange"
button to arrange the items by another selection, please make
this selection from the "Arrange" button's drop-down menu.
• The "Settings" button should now be available for Visioneer
sheet fed scanners on the PaperPort toolbar.
• Annotations added to a PDF file in PageViewer should now print
from Adobe Acrobat. Note: The highlighter annotation still may
not print from Adobe Acrobat.
• Comments added to a PDF file in Adobe Acrobat should now
print from PaperPort PageViewer.
Note: Some of the comments may not print such as
"Strikeout" and "Underline".
• The PaperPort PDF icon should no longer appear in Microsoft
Word when using the paste function.
• Auto-Straighten should no longer rotate page by 45 degrees.
• Annotations are now retained when dragging a PDF document
with to a FAX link.
• Multi-page settings will now be saved when the Properties dialog
is open.
• Annotations in multi-page documents are now retained when
saving the document.
• Repeat editing functions no longer cause documents to be
corrupted and PaperPort to crash.
• PaperPort 9 will now open a max embedded document (OLE
object) after upgrading from a previous version.
• PaperPort 9 will now be able to paste a MAX file in an OLE object
field in Microsoft Access.
• After using the Eraser tool, the erased section will now be
erased when saving the document.
• Thumbnails are now generated for MSG files created by
Microsoft Outlook 2003.
• PaperPort will now automatically create a Microsoft Office 2003
link.
• Web Capture will retain the web page's title as the file name.
• The shift key can now be used to select multiple files correctly.
Please note that in thumbnail view you will only be able to do
one shift select at a time. Selecting a third file will make a
selection between the second and third file selected.
• The "Cut" option will now work on an item selected on the
PaperPort Desktop.
• "Ctrl+F" will now open the "Find" dialog in the PaperPort
PageViewer application.
• PaperPort should no longer allow the creation of folders with
illegal characters used in the folder name, such as / or \.
• PaperPort should no longer close when attempting to create a
thumbnail for a corrupt PDF file.
• Saving an item with a note annotation to an image file from the
PaperPort Desktop will retain the note annotation's color.
• After enhancing an image in PaperPort PageViewer and choosing
"Undo", the "Redo" button will re-enhance the image.
• The "Expand Notes" button should no longer become out of sync
with the status of the notes.
• The "Undo/Redo" button should no longer cause annotations to
be lost when editing them.
• Thumbnails for PDF files are no longer generated twice, which
may have caused sluggishness when accessing folders with
many PDF files.
• TIFF files that use Packbits compression should no longer appear
in inversed color in PaperPort PageViewer.
• TIFF files should no longer display vertical lines when viewing
them in PaperPort PageViewer.
• Pasting a color image onto a black and white image should no
longer cause PaperPort to intermittently close.
• The creation date should now be displayed properly for all PDF
files within PaperPort.
• PaperPort should no longer use large amounts of memory when
working in PageViewer.
• Making non-destructive edits to Searchable PDFs with PaperPort
PageViewer should no longer remove searchable text.
• "Duplicate As PDF" is now available from the context menu for
image files on the PaperPort Desktop.
• PaperPort can now import 32-bit Windows Bitmap files (.BMP).
• When scanning into PaperPort 9, the Paperport - Scan dialog
box should no longer appear between each scan when the single
items check box is unchecked.
• When scanning into PaperPort 9 with a Canon Scanner, the
"stop" button should no longer be grayed out on the Canon Scan
Panel.
• PaperPort should no longer close when right-clicking on a folder
in the "Move to Folder" or "Copy to Folder" dialogs.
• PaperPort should no longer close when using the "Auto Enhance"
feature in PageViewer.
• After rotating an image and saving it to another image type, the
resulting image should always be rotated properly.
• Line or freehand comments added to a PDF file in Adobe Acrobat
should be displayed properly in PaperPort PageViewer.
• Annotations added to a PDF file in PaperPort PageViewer should
appear correctly in Adobe Acrobat.
• Comments added to a PDF file in Adobe Acrobat should appear
correctly in PaperPort PageViewer.
• The "Scan Other Side" button should be available for all
scanners that support double-sided scanning.
• Changes made to a MAX file opened in PageViewer using a
hyperlink from another application should no longer cause the
MAX file to become corrupt.
• The Quicken 2001 and 2002 links should now work properly
within PaperPort 9.
• Annotations should not be reversed when saving a MAX file to
PDF from the PaperPort Desktop.
• Items scanned or imported to the PaperPort Desktop should be
aligned on the Desktop properly.
• The "Convert Color" option should now work properly on web
pages captured with Web Capture.
• The "Convert Color" option should no longer cause PaperPort to
close when converting multipage MAX files.
• When using ScanDirect to scan images to PaperPort, the images
should appear on the PaperPort Desktop properly.
• The "Scan To" button on the HP ScanJet 5470 using
PrecisionScan Pro 3.1 should send the image to PaperPort 9
properly. This fix may also fix other HP ScanJet scanners that
experience the same issue.
• The Visioneer Strobe XP 200 should now work properly with
PaperPort 9.
• The icon on the "Arrange" button should no longer disappear
when the mouse pointer is over it.
• All letters/fonts on PDF files should be displayed properly in
PaperPort PageViewer.
• PDF files created with the eCopy ShareScan software should be
displayed properly.
