This document provides details for a kindergarten math lesson that uses technology to teach students to count from 10 to 100. The lesson will use an Adobe Sparks video created by the teacher to introduce counting by tens. As the video plays, the teacher and students will call out the numbers together. Later, students will take turns calling out the next number. The goal is for technology like Adobe Sparks to engage students and allow the lesson content to be accessible outside of class. Permissions will be required before any student work can be published online.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

I can use Adobe Spark as a tool to create videos with the students for review. The Adobe Sparks is
a great tool to keep the students engaged. Adobe allows you to add pictures from the web. You can
also add your own video clips to your Adobe Sparks video. Adobe sparks allows for cutting and
editing out. Adobe Sparks is great for adding to classroom blogs so that students can have assess to
them at any time. Students can also practice and create their own videos.
Lesson idea implementation:
In the class we will begin learning about counting by 10’s. We will use the Adobe Sparks video to
introduce the concept of counting by 10’s. The students will have the video as a visual of the
numbers while using the children’s voice to call out the numbers. As the teacher calls out the
Numbers that is displayed in the Smart Board the students will have the chance to repeat the
numbers too.
As the numbers are practiced, we will switch the way the video is presented to the class. To assess
the students the teacher will no longer call out the numbers and instead have the students as a
group call out the numbers. As the students call out the numbers, I will be observing to make sure
that all the students are participating. The next level learning will be done when the students begin

to call out one by one the number that comes next. A new video can also be created in were the
numbers are not visible until the students have had a chance to call the number that comes next in
the number sequence.

Importance of technology:
In the time we are in technology is not going to go away instead technology is going to get more
advance as time goes by. It is important for students to being learning to use technology because the
student will need to use technology in their future classrooms. Students will continue to use
computers to create projects, not using technology is going limit what they can create and share.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy:

In order to make the video public I must have written permission by the parents stating that I can
publish their child’s work online. One issue that I can come across is not having written permission
from a parent to display student work. I order to protect the student’s identity I can use numbers to
represent the students in the class. I can also make the video be password protected so that only the
parents can have access to the video.
Reflective Practice:
At the end of the lesson I want students to be able to see that learning can be fun and that they can
be part of the process of how learning will take place. I want the students to see that they too can
create their own video using their own pictures and videos. The next step that can be taken is adding
words to the numbers so that the students can begin seeing how the number is written in letter
form.
