A320 Flex Calculation

The document compares the flex temperatures and speeds for two aircraft configurations at different weights and environmental conditions. It describes adjusting the flex temperatures and speeds for bleed settings, altimeter pressure, wet runway, and center of gravity, and determining whether a flex takeoff is allowed. The flex temperatures and speeds from Configuration 2 are selected for a takeoff with an outside air temperature of 62 degrees Fahrenheit, altimeter setting of 998 hectopascals, and center of gravity of 26%.

Check CONF 1+F Flex Temperature and Speeds against actual weight from RTOW Chart.
Fill the second row if interpolation is required.

Check CONF 2 Flex Temperature and Speeds against actual weight from RTOW Chart.
Fill the second row if interpolation is required.

Enter actual Weight to start interpolation.

Compare Flex Temperature and Speeds for the two configurations.

Select the configuration which gives the maximum flex temperature.

If flex temperature is equal then select the one with lowest speeds.

Type in "1" if aircraft registration is AP-BLY or AP-BLZ or "0" if not.

Type in "1" if AC or Anti-ice is ON or "0" if OFF, to adjust the flex temperature.

Enter OAT + Airport Elevation + TREF

This is the flex temperature and its status. OK only if Flex > OAT & TREF and < T MAX Flex.

Apply D QNH Tflex adjustment factor. If Flex temp < TVMC then from line 1 & 2 else 3 & 4.
Enter actual QNH for interpolation. There is no speed correction for QNH & Bleed Influence.

This will be the QNH corrected flex temperature. Speed correction not required.

This is the flex takeoff status. OK only if Flex > OAT & TREF and < T MAX Flex.

Apply wet correction from RTOW chart. If Flex temp < TVMC then from line 1 & 2 else 3 & 4.

This will be the wet runway corrected flex temperature and speeds.

Speed Check.
Enter actual operational CG in % for flex & speed corrections in case CG is less than 27%.

This will be the CG corrected flex temperature and speeds.

This is the flex takeoff status. OK only if Flex > OAT & TREF and < T MAX Flex.
If flex takeoff is not possible.
