ITC’s sustainable vision & strategy
➢ ITC’s has over the years designed and implanted large scale
programs to replenish and enrich the environment, create
sustainable livelihoods, empower local communities and address
the challenges of climate change.
Sustainability initiatives of ITC
➢ Renewable energy provides more than 38% of all the energy needs
of ITC.
➢ ITC has setup 14MW of wind energy facility to provide power to the
packaging unit in Chennai
➢ ITC has employed over 100 differently abled persons to jobs like
house keeping, tele working, bakeries and also as musicians.
➢ Has created self help groups of women which have now become
self sufficient by self micro financing.
➢ Provides the farmers with cloned seeds which grow better and
produce better in harsh conditions.
▪ ITC won the prestigious Porter Prize 2017 for 'Excellence in Corporate Governance and
Integration' and for its exemplarycontribution in 'Creating Shared Value'.
▪ ITC ranked 3rd amongst leading corporates in India in terms of Corporate Reputation
(Nielsen Corporate Image Monitor2014-15)
▪ ITC recognised amongst the Top 10 employers in India byRandstadEmployer Brand Research
survey2018.

Major Awards in 2018/19
Mr Sanjiv Puri, Chairman & Managing Director, was honoured with the ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award
of the Year 2018’ conferred by IIT, Kanpur in recognition of his achievements of exceptional merit.
ITC’s leading hygiene brand Savlon, became the ITC’s Paperboards Business was recognised as the
first Indian brand to win the Grand Prix for Best Performer in the pulp & paper sector by the
‘Creative Effectiveness’ at the coveted Cannes Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Perform,
Lions2018 Achieve and Trade Scheme.

Conclusion
ITC being a very large company and working across different sectors
of business is actively engaged in CSR activates having a vision to
serve a larger national purpose of nation Building through core values
so that every part of the society have the chance and the accessibility
to the basic needs which the rural India doesn’t have through
imparting assistance and education to uplift them from poverty and
misery these people have been facing from a very long time.
