TITLE OF CONCEPT PAPER
I. Background
This part describes the significance of the topic under study. Include information on
incidence or prevalence and severity of the problem. Describe what is not known
about the problem that it intends to address. Include any preliminary data or
additional background information indicating the rationale for the proposed research.

TITLE OF CONCEPT PAPER
As you begin to write the problem statement of your Concept Paper, consider your
research. First consider why you feel the problem is important. Consider how your
study relates to previous work in the field, how you will link your hypotheses and
objectives to theory, and how the hypotheses relate to the research design. Finally,
consider the theoretical and practical implications involved in your research project
(APA, 2010). A well-developed, concise, and clear problem statement will lay the
foundation for a strong Concept Paper and the dissertation that follows.

IV. Findings
This summarizes the collected data and presents the results to the reader. Discuss
thoroughly the finding that includes the explanations, implications, and applications
of the findings. The results and implications should be presented in a straightforward
way.
V. Summary
It includes points that were actually learned from the study. They are answer to the
sub-questions raised in the statement of the problems. They are written concisely and
convey all the information resulting from the study. The lay summary should be 250
words or less and is intended as a brief, simplified summary.

VI. References
This provides references to the material cited in the literature review and elsewhere in
the Concept Paper. The researcher must tell the reader the sources of all materials he
used in his study; the direct quotations and borrowed ideas in related literature and
studies, the visual materials like maps, charts, diagrams, and pictures; otherwise he
will be cited for plagiarism. The entries in the references are arranged in alphabetical
order of family name of the authors, in hanging indented and single spaced form with
double spacing between references.
Most researches are now using American Psychological Association (APA) style
which entries’ order are the following:
(Books) Author’s last name, First Initial. (Publication Date). Book Title. Place of
publication: Publisher.
(Encyclopedia and Dictionary) Author’s last name, First Initial. (Publication Date).
Title of the article. Title of Encyclopedia/Dictionary (Volume, pages). Place
of publication: Publisher.
(Magazine and Newspaper Articles) Author’s last name, First Initial. (Publication
Date). Title of article. Magazine/Newspaper Title, volume/issue number (if
available), pages.
(Online periodical) Author’s last name, First Initial. (Publication Date). Title of

(Online document) Author’s last name, First Initial. (Publication Date). Title of

**Note: If a document is undated, use “n.d.” (for no date) immediately after the
document/work title. Break a lengthy URL that goes to another line after a slash
or before a period.
