DTC C1249/49 Open in Stop Light Switch Circuit: Description

The document describes a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) related to an open circuit in the stop light switch of a vehicle stability control system. It provides the DTC number, detection conditions, possible trouble areas, inspection procedures to diagnose the issue which include checking fuse integrity, relay resistance, switch resistance, and wire harness connections. The recommended repair is to replace the ABS and traction control actuator assembly if the issue persists after inspections.

BC–110 BRAKE CONTROL – VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM

DTC C1249/49 Open in Stop Light Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION
The skid control ECU detects the brake operating conditions through a signal transmitted by the stop light
switch. The skid control ECU incorporates an open circuit detection circuit. This DTC is set under either of
the following conditions:
• An open is detected in the stop light signal input line when the stop light switch is off.
• An open is detected in the stop light circuit lead to the ground when the stop light switch is off.
DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1249/49 When either condition below is met: • ECU-IG1 fuse
1. When IG1 terminal voltage 9.5 to 17.2 V, open • STOP fuse
circuit of stop light switch continues for 0.3 seconds • BRK relay
more. • Stop light switch
2. w/ 16-inch disc: • Stop light switch circuit
With brake pedal load sensing switch ON, master • ABS and TRACTION actuator
pressure 2 MPa or more, vehicle deceleration 0.2 G
or more (calculated based on vehicle speed), stop
switch OFF condition continues for 2 seconds or
more.
