CHAPTER 1

Guidance Student Profile System of Zamboanga City High School (Main)

INTRODUCTION

The Guidance Student Profile System is very important part of this technology. The Guidance
Student Profile System are handling the data and personal information of a student’s. The
component is important into a single database, accessing and searching data of any students
happen with just a click of the mouse.

The Guidance Student Profile System is a system that being developed for managing and
keeping the information about the student particular in their behavioral status inside the school
campus. The term “Student Profile” means an information about a person who attending
school. The student provides the information about the student and can include data submitted
by a student, and the information added by the Guidance Stuff. The word “Guidance” means
the act of guiding or helping the student on what to do. The Guidance office is where all the
official records and confidential documents of a student’s are there, and where the student’s
brought there if they make school offences such as trouble inside the school, gambling, stealing
and cutting classes of student’s etc. The Guidance Office also helping the students to
understand and use wisely the education and personal opportunities they have.

The Zamboanga City High School (Main), Guidance Office doesn’t have any system that make
their work easy and fast. They need to input the record of the student one by one. Adding and
keeping student’s information are done manually. The paper -based record system is a very
time consuming task. The school is depending on one man who maintaining the student’s
records. The ZCHS(Main) Guidance Office told to the researcher’s that they need a system that
can able to use at handling and keeping the record of the student’s because they are using a
manual way of updating and keeping records of the student’s. the school need to upgrade their
system from paper-based record system to a computerize profile system. They need a system
that can do the work easy and fast, effective and efficient, and time consuming.

The benefit of Guidance Student Profile System is to lessen the paper works of Guidance
personnel and easy to manage because keeping control of student information and managing
the data has never been easy.
The goal of the system is to have an effective way of handling and safe keeping confidential
information of the student, and they will no longer use the manual way of updating and
handling all the student’s confidential information.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The general objectives of this study is to implement a Guidance Student Profile System for
Zamboanga City High School (Main) a reliable, usable, secured student profile system. The
System will be able to help the Guidance Personnel reduces his tasks on keeping the student’
records.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

The system will eliminate the problem of the current manual system.
The system will provide an organized system in managing the information.
The system will keep all the confidential data of the student safe and secured.
The system provided an easy way handling and updating all student’s information by using
the Guidance Student Profile System.
The system will provide an easy and reliable system for keeping student’s behavior.

SCOPE AND LIMITATION

The study focused on the function of the Guidance Student Profile System. It involves the
process way of handling and keeping the student confidential information.

SCOPE:

The system covers all the confidential records of all student’s such as records of complains
and problems of the student’s in Guidance Office.
Searching and updating the files of student’s
Lesser the too much copies of documents to collect.
Adding and Editing Files of a new, old, or a returnee student.
Deleting files in no longer needed.
LIMITATION:

Collection of fees are not covered by the system.


Lack information form a student’s.
The system is not for monitoring absences of a student’s.
The system provides only the records of all student’s.
Guidance Office personnel or the authorized person only are allowed to use the system.
The system is not design for determining and compute the total working hours of the
guidance staff.
