What is a Note Making

Note- making is an advanced writing skill, which is


acquiring increasing importance due to the knowledge
explosion.

Type Of Questions.

The question on this topic carrying 8 marks consists of


two parts.

(a) Make notes on the given passage .This part


carries 4 marks.
(b) Make a summary of the passage in the word limit
given. This part also carries 4 marks.
How to make notes
Step wise instruction

1 Careful Reading Find out the main idea of the


passage.-frame a title.

2 Logical Sequence Mark main points and supporting


points and arrange them in a
sequence

3 Abbreviations Make your own abbreviations for long


and repeatedly used words

4 Numbering points(if any) should be written at a particular


distance from the margin. You may use 1, 2,
3…….or A, B,C……for main points and

6 Write the Key Make keys for the abbreviations you used
( 3 to 6). Check your understanding
