TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY

We choose laptop as our official core IT component as it offers an array of

benefits than using standard personal computers. Based on our extensive research

we’ve chosen Acer Aspire 3 as it is one of quintessential executive laptops and has

many features meant for productivity (We will only include the features needed for

company’s transactions and businesses). The main features of this laptop are the 1.6

GHz Intel core i5 processor with a max turbo speed of 3.4 GHz and the installed 4 GB

of RAM, together they give the device a high processing speed allowing the user to

multitask on high-end task. Additionally, this 4 GB of DDR4 SDRAM allows the user to

easily access transaction files even when the user’s on the go. The 15.6” HD display

gives the client a wide viewing angles and scanned documents will have a nice and

sharp color that will help the client in choosing what they need. This laptop lets the

user to video conference with the use of the built in web cam, create spreadsheets and

if necessary, open additional file and tabs without with ease. Its ABS plastic and

polycarbonate made body is lightweight and aesthetically pleasing allowing the user to

squeeze some work no matter where the user is. Input devices can be customized

using the 2 USB 2.0, A USB 3.0 while HDMI and LAN are very useful when it comes to

presentation and mailing important documents to clients. It is Bluetooth, Ethernet, Fast

Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet capable so it can perfectly serve as a server of

company’s other linked devices that are used in transactions.

We choose laptop over desktop mainly because of its portability and ease in

customization. We considered a handful of criteria to determine what best fits in our


needs. Aside from that, desktop setups are thicker and cables are needed to be

connected. In business, time is precious so it is important to start working as soon as

you power the system on. Below is a chart that compares the two given types of

computers.

The deciding factor for the kind of laptop for us to use is its CPU type and its

generation with an affordable price. We focused on getting an i5 which is 5 th gen or

higher because it helps in making the multiple softwares run faster and does not make
the hardware lag. We considered not getting i3 even if it may be cheaper because it

might have a tendency for the computer to lag at some point and we did not get i7 for

it may be a tad too much which is why we choose i5 as our basis for what laptop to

get. For i5 8th gen quad core with 4 GB ram the price of the laptop is rather

reasonable which could support the different softwares the company will use and not

only that make work less of a hassle since laptops are portable and easy to learn and

use.
