When it came to the crucial decision of the career I wished to pursue, the decision of

the field of nursing became quite clear to me. It was back when I was working at a doctor office

as phlebotomist, that I acquired a love and respect for the medical field. And while it took me

while to decide that nursing was the perfect career for me, I have loved it ever since. The four

pillars of my personal nursing philosophy that I draw from in the hospital is the individual

person themselves, their environment they inhabit, their health and wellbeing, and the practice

of the nursing.

The person is the center of nursing. To be pursue something, you need to truly believe

in yourself and in your personal professional capacity to aspire to more. It is important to

prepare yourself professionally, mentally, physically and emotionally for the demanding work

that the nurse field requires. A hospital is only as capable as those who on the frontlines, the

nurses and the doctors.

Second, the patient is understandable another major part of nursing. Patient care

includes all the aspects of the illness and how this affects not just the body, but emotional

experiencing. In the long run improving the health of the patient as well as their quality of life.

Understanding our patients can much easier put them within their current position.

Health is dynamic and thus implies constant changes and every changing status

happening in response to a number of illnesses and conditions. It is important to look at the

patient surroundings and where he lives. By understanding a patient environment we perhaps

better understand what can causing the pain and hopefully better find a remedy to their issues.

Lastly, I believe that nursing it is the integration for all three of the previous aspect; the

person, the environment, and their health. Each day we as future nurses will need to adapt to

the changes happening to our patient as individual or they world around them. Ultimately

creating a safe atmosphere to nourish and improve our patient’s life.

Each person has different needs, and thus require different plans of action. Care must

individualize and planned according to each person and person involved, which is why we use

the nursing process. This system helps us accommodate all the needs of our patients. Nurses

play a valuable role with the individual themselves, their family and community, and of course

their health and wellbeing to achieve great results.
