Electrohydraulic converters.

LED INDICATION
A red LED (MDL) at the bottom of the module front plate is ON when limit value monitor circuits
detects output short circuits. A green LED(MDL) is ON when there is no short at the output.
A green LED (RLY) at the bottom of the module front plate is ON when the relay is not energized
A red LED (RLY) is on when relay is energized.
BUS ADDRESS
The module receives only +24V(Field Power supply) from the Bus ,other inputs and outputs are hard
wired through the front I/O connector. There is no bus communication .
MODULE OPERATION
Current to voltage converter converts the differential 4-20mA current signal available at the input
pins P3A-2 w.r.t P3A-1 into 0-10V voltage signal. This voltage signal is available at Jack A5. This
signal can be applied to one of the three voltage inputs of the summation amplifier stage by selecting
jumper at pin 1 & 2 of the switch S1.
The circuit comprises a summation unit as an integrator, two o/p amplifiers operating in a bridging
circuit and a differential amplifier stage. The load is applied to the two outputs, pin P3A-5 (Jack
A3)and P3A-6(Jack B3) each of opposite polarity. Up to three voltage signals at the input pins P3A-
3(Jack B4) , P3A-4(Jack A4) and from I/V stage can be summated. The gain is 1.1. Both outputs are
continuously short-circuit-proof relative to each other and to the zero reference voltage. The outputs
are protected against voltage surges.
The limit value monitor detects outputs short circuits (direct short-circuit of both outputs or short
circuit of one output to GND) by means of an analog circuit. In the event of a fault appropriate binary
signals are issued from a logic circuit and LED at the module front plate glows. Module fault will be
available at the output connector pin through potential free relay contacts at pins P3A-15(+) and P3A-
16(-).
Load Isolation
The amplifier outputs are connected via relay NC contacts for load isolation. The relay is energized by
applying high signal at pin P3A-14 through Buffer amplifier .
The module gets only field power supply available from the back plane pins P1A-18 & P1A-19
(+24V) and P1A-21 & P1A-22(GND). This power supply is protected by resetable fuse, which do
not require changing after a fault occurs . When the fault is removed and the fuse cools down, normal
operation resumes. DC-DC converter blocks are used to derive regulated -24V, +15V, -15V,
voltages required for the internal circuits and +24V is used directly from the bus.
