ZZ1002 Engineering Graphics Monsoon Semester 2018-19 (G Batch)

This document contains 5 problems related to engineering graphics on lines and traces. It provides the details of each problem, such as the positions of endpoints, lengths of lines, and inclinations of lines to planes. The problems involve drawing projections of lines and determining properties like true lengths, inclinations, and traces. The document aims to help students practice core concepts in engineering graphics through solving these technical problems on lines and projections.

CW- 03 LINES AND TRACES

Date of starting: 04-09-2018 Date of completion: 07-09-2018

1. A line AB 90 mm long is inclined at 30o to the HP. Endpoint A is 12 mm

above the HP and 20mm in front of VP. Its front view measures 65 mm.
Draw the top view of AB & find its inclination with VP.

2. A line PQ 100 mm long, is inclined at 30° to the H.P. and at 45° to the V.P.
Its mid-point is in the V.P. and 20 mm above the H.P. Draw its projections,
if its end P is in the third quadrant and Q in the first quadrant.
3. The projectors of the ends of a line AB are 50 mm apart. The end A is 20
mm above the H.P. and 30 mm in front of the V.P. The end B is 10 mm
below the H.P. and 40 mm behind the V.P. Determine the true length and
traces of AB, and its inclinations with the two planes.
4. The end A of a line AB is 25 mm behind the VP and is below the H.P. The
end B is 12 mm in front of the V.P. and is above the H.P. The distance
between the projectors is 65 mm. The line is inclined at 40° to the H.P. and
its H.T. is 20 mm behind the V.P. Draw the projections of the line and
determine its true length and the VT.
5. A 100mm long line PQ has its end P 10 mm above H.P. and 70 mm in front
of the V.P. The line is incline at 60 0 to the H.P. and 300 to the V.P. Draw its
projections.
