1. Introduction
This project is designed to further the achievement of the objectives set out for the course and will form part
of the course's assessment.
Date of submission: 14th April 2020 in hardcopy and softcopy (to be uploaded into Moodle)
3. Aim:
The aim of this module is to provide and empower students with knowledge real estate management and
examines its practical application at a strategic level. Students will explore and analyse the relationship
between strategic planning and management and real estate portfolio performance.

5. Assignment Topic
Case analysis is a proven educational method that is especially effective in a strategic management course.
The case method focuses attention on what a firm has done or should do in an actual business situation. In
addition to drawing on your knowledge of marketing, finance, management, production, economics and
procurement options, you will be applying the strategic management concepts taught in this module. The
case method offers you the opportunity to develop your analytical skills and to develop valuable skills in
time management, group problem solving, creativity, organization of thoughts and ideas, and human
interaction.
5.1 Choose a property / real estate development company or any company which has property dealings
as its core business. The company of your choice will be your case study, therefore it has to be
listed under Bursa Malaysia’s main market - property sector.
5.2 Pick one of the options below and discuss in depth of the planning strategy of the company in that
particular component.
a. Recent site acquisition / procurement
*Source : Pick a broadcast / activity of the company under ‘Company Announcements’ @ Bursa
Malaysia. Your selection should consist of any of their recent site acquisition / procurement.
b. Recent marketing strategy
*Source : Pick a ‘near-completion’ / completed property development project of the company
from their website.
c. Recent CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) effort
*Source : Pick a successfully implemented CSR project of the company as reported in any of the
local dailies.

5.4 You may use assumptions under Part iv., where there is inadequacy of information, provided that it
is appropriate and realistic.

Apart from the standard marking scheme above, note that special attributes such as proper usage
of terminologies, methodologies, referencing and elaboration where necessary, creativity and out-
of-box thinking, being able to provide sound reasoning for assumptions adopted and adherence to
format given together with appendices and exhibits will be given due consideration.
7. Submission Requirement
The submission will take the form of a well-structured report with appropriate sections and headings/titles
that enables a clear and coherent message that is to be conveyed. Generally, in writing the report, the
following guidelines should be followed:
The main body of the report should be word-processed as normal and include page numbers
Use one and a half line spacing in theme font Times New Roman and font size of 11 or 12 for ease
of reading
There should be a front cover page detailing pertinent module information and student’s
identification and a table of contents in that order on standalone pages;
Please avoid the use of first person pronouns like 'we', 'my' etc.
Any references used are to be appropriately cited in-text and listed at the end of the work in
conformity with the Harvard referencing style
All data and other relevant information relied upon in carrying out your report must be shown; and
the word limit for the same is circa 4,500 including any references used but excludes appendices.
8. Restrictions
Plagiarism, if found will be marked ‘0’. Plagiarism is the use without adequate acknowledgment of the
intellectual work of another person in work submitted assessment. You are also reminded to be careful
when downloading information from the internet.
