INTRODUCTION
The increase in the number of vehicles in India in recent years led to the congestions and traffic
jams in almost all cities of India . The dispensing of the fuel to this huge number of vehicles at
the fuel stations has caused many complications in India . The vehicle driver has to pay for fuel
with cash money and may have to pay more than the amount of dispensed fuel due to the lack of
small money change available with station operator.

RFID Based Automated Fuel Dispensing Station, is to reduce human work and develop an auto
guided mechanism and to implement the task sequentially by using RFID technology .These
systems are highly reliable and less time-consuming devices.
OBJECTIVE
The Objective of the proposed study is as follows:-

 To design a system which is capable of automatically deducting the amount of Fuel dispensed
from the user card based on RFID Technology.
REVIEW OF LITERATURE
Z. Čekerevac et al. (2006), Proposed RFID Based Fuel Dispensing System in Chennai . This
paper presents a Fuel Dispensing System Based on RFID Technology . It prevents unauthorized
fuelling by assigning a specific fuel for registered vehicle , depending on their types . It uses
EM18 RFID Reader with its passive tax . The hardware consist of Microcontroller , Relay ,
LCD , Speaker module and Zigbee Transmitter and Transceiver for car unit and it is attached to
conventional solenoid valve in order to make them work under the RFID Technology .

Jaska P. et al . (2010), Proposed to eliminate Human interaction so that there is no need of

workers to fill the fuel ; In general , a smart card is an integrated circuit card with memory
capable of making decisions .. The Smart Card contains an AT89C5I Microcontroller , Voltage
Regulator , Serial Cable Connections , and an LED which glows whenever a card is inserted
into the reader and also it glows whenever it issues any command or receives any command .

Lekic.N et al . (2013), Proposed a Fuel-Link aims to provide an innovative solution to fuel security
and vehicle identification needs of large fleet owning organizations in a cost effective and scalable
manner. By incorporating multiple range wireless communication technologies such as Near Field
Communications (NFC) and Bluetooth, our system will be able to ensure fueling security via close
physical proximity and have the ability to offload this data to a nearby Fuel Master Unit (FMU) for
authorization and processing. NFC tags offer the unique ability to passively harvest energy from an
accompanying RF field and thus provide a cost efficient , battery less design to be installed onto
vehicles.
Jadhav A.H et al . (2014), Proposed a control system based on RFID technology to monitor the
supply and dispensing of vehicle fuel in Baghdad. The system consists of RFID readers attached to
fuel dispensers and pumps, and RFID tags assigned to the vehicles and the trucks used for delivering
fuel to the fuel stations. A hardware part is connected to conventional fuel dispensers and machines,
located at both the stations and the fuel refineries or depots, which makes them work under the control
of the RFID system, without the need to rebuild new dispensers.

 Edward O.O et al . (2014), Proposed a Web Based Monitoring System that enables effective monitoring of fuel station
output and sales volume from distributed fuel stations under the domain of single company / organization . Remote
Monitoring Technology as a vast research field with numerous application areas incorporating various data collation
techniques and sensor network can be applied to provide information relating to fuel station status in distributed fuel
stations reliably . Thus the proposed system relies on a Microcontroller, Keypad and Pump to demonstrate the
traditional fuel dispenser.

 Karthik Srinivasan et al . (2015), Proposed an ideology to compensate for the exorbitant consumption of automotive
fuel and indirectly incourage travel by means of public transport and / or car pulling . Here a transparent and egalitarian
system for fuel distribution and regulation is introduced . The majority of the system construction and implementation
is in fuel /diesel dispensing unit , where-in there is an application processor connected to a cloud database containing
pertinent details regarding fuel consumption of every automobile owner who has officially registered himself / herself
to this modified system . Upon registration , a fuel – limit – per – month is established for the particular user . For data
retrieving and manipulation in real time , RFID Technology is chosen .
WORK PLAN AND
METHODOLOGY
The Project is implementing as an RFID Based fuel/Diesel Bunk . Users use RFID Card : fuel/Diesel
Card with RFID Tags including user verification codes . These cards can be recharged at the recharge
points.
When a user swipes the card through the RFID Reader , it senses the amount entered by the user and
delivers fuel to the vehicle . Therefore , the amount will be deducted automatically from the user
card and the LCD Display shows the amount and details of the user.
The Microcontroller stores several card details and compares the data given by the RFID Reader .
When both these details match , it sends the control signals to the relay such that the motor operates
to fuel station .
The system proposed states three simple uses of RFID smartcards . Among these two cards are
known and the rest are unknown . When the customer comes to fill the fuel at the station , firstly he
will swipe the card .
CONTINUED…
If the card is authorized , RFID Card Reader will accept the card . Then it will ask for the pin
number . If he/she entered pin number by the customer is correct then it will ask for the amount
for the fuel/diesel to be dispensed .

If the customer swipes with unauthorized card ,then the reader will display the error message as
the card is unauthorized . In such a way the system is secured .

This system does not require any high performance micro controller such as ARM Series . It is
done using low cost micro-controller which indirectly reduces the cost of the total system .
