HISTORY OF BOLBOK RURAL BANK, INCORPORATION

On June 28, 1956, the following incorporators agreed to organize a rural bank:

1. Benito Marasigan Sr.

2. Soledad Villapando

3. Francisco V. Marasigan

4. Apolonio V. Marasigan

5. Horacio V. Marasigan

6. Benito V. Marasigan Jr.

7. Lilia V. Marasigan

8. Alicia V. Marasigan

9. Cesar V. Marasigan

10. Delfina S. Marasigan

On August 4, 1956, the Central Bank of the Philippines authorized under Certificate of
Authority No. 66 the establishment of the Bolbok Rural Bank, Inc., with the principal place
of business at San Juan, Batangas.

The rural bank’s Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws were registered with the
Securities and Exchange Commission under Registration No. 011514. The bank opened its
doors to the banking public.

On August 4, 1980, rural bank established a money shoop in San Juan Public Market.

small entrepreneurs with affordable funding source.

NATURE OF SERVICE/ SERVICES OFFERED

Bolbok Rural Bank Inc. accepts savings deposits, special savings and time deposits. It
also grants the following loans:

1. Agricultural Loans- including Rice and/ or Coconut Production, Livestock and Poultry
and Citrus Production.

2. Commercial Loans, like vendor loans and Sari-Sari Store owners.

3. Industrial Loans- manufacturing and small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) and;

4. Other Loans, which includes salary loans, personal consumption, real estate, fringe
benefit, vehicle financing and others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ojiemar R. Alcantara (Branch Manager)


- Overall leadership, compliance, operation and meeting the financial goals of the bank.
- Carrying out of the training of other staff and the creation of sales budgets and plans.
- Responsible for physical security and appearance of the branch as well as dealing
with issues that involve staff or customers relationships.
- Hiring, supervising, and training all the staff that works in the bank.
- Responsible for representing the bank within the community and therefore should be
able to communicate the objectives of the bank with the existing clients and
customers.

2. Mark Daniel J. Buya (Accounting Clerk/ Assistant Bookkeeper)


- Balances and files the day’s transactions.
- Encodes the summarized transactions to the Multi Ledger System.
- Prints the supporting tickets of day-to-day transactions
- Prepares and submits WRRAR (Weekly Report on Required and Available Reserves
against Deposit Liabilities) and AMLA Report to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
- Monthly reconciles due from other banks.
- Posts accounting records to the Books of Accounts.
- Records on a book the series of on-hand Official Receipts for Money Shop & other
transactions, Cashier’s Check and Stock Certificates.

3. Dianne T. Magsino (Bookkeeper)


- Prepares profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
- Compiles and analyses financial information to prepare entries to accounts.
- Monitors and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and
completeness.
- Prepares and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other
accounting documents.
- Analyses revenue and expenditure trends and recommends appropriate budget levels,
and ensure expenditure control.
- Interacts with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
- Prepares tax returns at year-end.
- Prepares withholding, Social Security and other tax reports.

4. Ryan A. Alfonso (Loans Clerk)


- Assists loan applicants.
- Process loan documents for release of secured and unsecured loans.
- Prepares and send demand, attorney’s reminder letters to borrowers.
- Assists loans bookkeeper in computation of loans for collection.
- Prepares documents under Dacion En Pago agreement.
- Releases proper documents for paid loans.

5. Shiele M. Aguila (Teller)


- Assists customers to ascertain their needs.
- Receive and count working cash at the beginning of shift.
- Accept cash and checks for deposit and check accuracy of deposit slip.
- Process cash withdrawals.
- Records all transactions promptly, accurately and in compliance with bank
procedures.
- Maintain and prepare teller’s blotter.
- Prepares proof of cash.
- Accepts payments and releases for all kinds of loan.
- May initiate and open new accounts in the absence of new accounts clerk.
- Helps in collecting past due loans.

6. Arman C. Untalan (Loan Collector- Money shop and Driver)


- Try to contact debtors by telephone to talk to them about their reasons for non-
payment.
- Visit debtors in person when telephone conversations are unsuccessful.
- Follow-up collection under compromise agreement under Money Shop loans.
- Collects daily payments of Money Shop borrowers.
- Assists Loans Department; and other duties assigned.
- Responsible for the filing of borrowers’ papers inside the vault.
- Driver during a collection to past due borrowers and credit investigations.
- Maintains the bank’s vehicle.
