1. Introduction
The AADHAAR enrolment client application uses the camera to capture the photograph
of the resident. The enrolment station may be connected to various set of devices which
are capable enough to capture images. The challenge for the station (and operator) is to
identify the correct camera device which shall be used to capture the photograph.
The utility provides the flexibility to the user to select the correct camera device from
the list of devices capable to capture images.
1.1 Terminology
VDM: Vendor Device Manager.
Station: Enrolment station which runs this utility and does the enrolment
The utility continuously monitors the camera configuration and notifies the operator, as
shown below, to configure the camera correctly under the following two conditions:
1. If there are multiple cameras connected to the machine, and the camera to be used
by the VDM is not configured.
2. If a camera was selected and the same is not connected to the machine.
The utility has a drop-down which lists all camera devices connected to the machine.
The user can choose the camera to be used by the Enrolment Client, and save and
restart the Camera VDM using the “Save and Restart VDM” button. The list of devices
connected can be refreshed using the Refresh button next to the drop down.
In addition, the utility also provides an option to specify the port at which Device
Manager is running. This will be needed only if the Device Manager is running on a port
apart from the default set of ports.
