1.0 SCOPE:
This procedure covers the procedure for packing, marking & shipping for Ma’aden,
Ammonia III Project – Road transport.

2.0 REFERENCES:

3.0 PACKING

3.1 General Instructions


• Packing shall comply with the identified categories described herein,
depending on the nature of GOOD’s characteristics, weight and dimensions.
• All the equipment and/or materials will be carefully packed and protected. The
packing shall be sufficiently strong and suitable for various handling
operations, long distance and multimodal transportation, and it will be ensuring
the protection of the goods against weather or other various elements, not only
during the time required for transportation, but also in case of outdoor storage
in the climatic conditions at the site.
• Packing shall be carried out in such a way that the volume is minimized, but
without reducing the effectiveness of the protection. Parts such as accessories,
motors, etc. that are not rigidly attached to the main equipment, shall be packed
separately.

3.2 Type of Package:

3.2.1 Packing in Wooden boxes:

• The equipment and/or materials such as fasteners, small loose parts, etc. will
be packed in wooden cases. Wooden boxes will be made by, new, solid and
type and class suitable for the weight being carried. All the packages shall be
adequate to allow stacking on top, supporting at least weight equivalent to
their own. Flat head nails will be used for closing. All boxes/cases shall be
built with rails or chocks on the base pallet platform or skid platform to allow
their handling with slings or forklift. Goods shall be loaded properly; any
voids or dead space are not permitted and bracing, and cushioning materials
shall be used as necessary to prevent movement and damage. If the load shall
be kept upright, the box/case shall be equipped with lift handles, skids, top

peaks or gables or some similar device to assure the box will be stowed and
loaded in an upright position.

3.2.2 Packing on Wooden Pallets

• The equipment and/or materials packed in the wooden pallets, all bottom
pallets will be built with rails or chocks on the base pallet platform or skid
platform to allow their handling with slings or forklift. Materials to the pallets
shall be secured with a minimum of 2 nylon or metallic straps. All the pallets
after strapping shall be covered with plastic film.

3.2.3 Packing in Bundles

• Structures and prefabricated items of in gauge (beams, plates, profiles,


brackets, bracing, etc.) will be packed in bundles of uniform length. For the
materials packed in bundles, materials will be stacked on the wooden base and
shall be secured the bundle with metallic straps. Quantities and strapping
positions depend on the length of the bundle. Wooden/neoprene supports will
be provided to avoid the metal to metal contacts. No bundle will not exceed
the weight of 3000 kgs. All bundles shall be designed suitable for lifting by
forklift.

3.2.4 Packing of Bulk Cargo, Shipped Loose - Vessels, Stacks, ducts, tanks
etc.

• Materials shall be stacked in the horizontal orientationunless otherwise


required by the client. Materials shall be placed on the saddles (wooden or
steel as per project specification). Saddles shall be designed and constructed to
fit the materials girth. They shall be sufficient strength to resist the forces
applied to them during loading, unloading and transportation. If steel saddles
are using, neoprene layers shall be used to prevent the metal to metal contact
the materials. Sufficient number of saddles shall be provided for the adequate
support and to prevent stressing the suspended shell sections. Saddles shall be
secured to the materials by means of steel belting/cargo belts. All the nozzles
shall be blinded with wooden blinds.

3.3 Hazardous Materials:

• Hazardous material could pose risk to health, safety and property. Hazardous
material shall be packed, marked, stored and transported in accordance with
local and foreign government and international transportation regulations.
SELLER shall inform PURCHASER about all shipments containing

hazardous materials at least one (1) month prior to submission of the READY
FOR SHIPMENT DECLARATION.
4.0 MARKING

• GOODS shall be marked with a Shipping Mark in English, marking is to be


applied to two opposite sides of each package and on the top. Packaging shall
be clearly and legibly marked. All tags and markings on crates and packages
shall be fade resistant to withstand shipping and storage periods in bright
sunlight and all other atmospheric conditions that may occur. Country of
manufacturing must be included on every bundle and done with permanent,
non-removable stickers, permanent labelling or engrave directly on the goods
and packages.

• Materials identified as hazardous fall under the control of various international


and domestics governing authorities’ External markings on packaging shall
comply with the applicable laws and regulations for the mode of transport and
the countries involved, being the country of dispatch, country/countries of
transit and the country of end destination.

5.0 SHIPPING DOCUMENTS

5.1 The below mentioned contents / details must be shown in the respective
document:

5.1.1 Commercial Invoice

• Names & addresses mentioned above


• Invoice Reference Number (invoice number & date)
• Country of Origin
• Manufacturer Name
• Purchase Order Number
• Item Serial Number (item wise)
• Item Description / Details
• Quantity
• Net & Gross Weight
• Unit Price
• Currency
• Total Amount
• Invoice must clearly state whether CIF or C&F or FOB

5.1.3 Certificate of Origin

• Names & Addresses as given


• Country of Origin. (Country of Origin must be the Country where the
commodity is produced /manufactured).
• In case, more than one Country of origin under one Certificate of Origin, then
all Countries of Origin must be mentioned.
• Item description / details & quantity
• Certificate of Origin shall be attested by the local Chamber of Commerce.

 Upon the receipt of Shipping Release Note (SRN) from the purchaser, materials
will be arranged for delivery/collection (subject to the scope of delivery).
 ONE set of original Country of Origin, Commercial Invoice and Packing list
which will containing the details of; PO No., HS Code, Country of Origin,
Gross & Net weights, etc. will be submitted upon the receipt the consignee
details from the purchaser.
