1. Download Pack Content


Your download contains the following files and folders:

• License text file.


This is the End User License Agreement, describing how you may and may not use the ReFill.
Please read this document carefully!

• Reason Drum Kits ReFill.


This is the product you paid for. It is either 16 bit or 24 bit, whichever you chose to download.
The two include the exact same content and are completely exchangable. The only difference is
the bit resolution.

• RDK Documentation folder.


Contains the User Manual for the Reason Drum Kits ReFill, the Studio Log and Key Map showing
how the various drum sounds are mapped across the keyboard (all in Acrobat pdf format). It also
includes the pdf "What’s new in RDK 2.0" and a backdrop specially made for Reason Drum Kits
for you to use with your tweaked and built kits.

• RDK Professional Mixes.


Reason songs in rps format showing off the potential of Reason Drum Kits. These files are also
included in the ReFill.

• RDK ReadMe - this file!


2. How to Install the Reason Drum Kits ReFill
To start using the Reason Drum Kits ReFill with Reason is easy. Just
follow these simple steps:

1. Move Reason Drum Kits.rfl to the Reason application folder or another dedicated ReFills folder on
your computer.

2. Start Reason. The new ReFill is now available. Check out the Professional Mixes and Producer
Kits for inspiration.

Note: For existing users of Reason Drum Kits, this ReFill replaces RDK 1.0. You can safely
delete your old ReFill. RDK 2.0 is completely compatible with earlier versions.

3. Compatibility and Other Outstanding Issues


We have gone far to create the most realistic sounding set of drums ever made for Reason. This
means that the full patches in this ReFill are large. Multi Out patches weigh around 250MB (16 bit
format) and to load them into Reason takes more time than loading sounds from the Reason Factory
Sound Bank.

Therefore, we recommend a faster CPU and more memory for this product. If you have less memory
than recommended, or if you just want the patches to load faster, please use the Stereo Mix patches
(MX). These are stereo representations of the samples and works perfectly well in a programming
situation. You can always step up to the Multi Out patches later on in the process, since all Stereo
Mix patches have a Multi Out equivalent.

4. About the Manual and Key Map


We strongly recommend that you read the included pdf Manual. In addition to invaluable info on how
to use the ReFill, it’s also full of facts on how we recorded the sounds, which drums are involved and
more. And don't forget the Key Map. It describes the mapping of the sounds as well as abbreviations
and routings of individual drums.
