Individual Activities/exercises to be conducted and submitted are as follows:

1. Working individually, develop a 5-year forecast of occupational market


conditions for five occupations such as accountant, nurse, and engineer etc.

Ans.
Chartered Accountant : - The number of people working as Accountants (in their
main job) grew very strongly over the past 5 years and is expected to grow over the
next 5 years from 199,200 in 2019 to 207,200 by 2024.Job openings can come from
new jobs being created, but most come from turnover (workers leaving).There are
likely to be around 84,000 job openings over 5 years (that’s about 16,800 a year).

Engineer Managers :- The number of people working as Engineering Managers (in


their main job) grew very strongly over the past 5 years and is expected to grow
very strongly over the next 5 years from 22,900 in 2019 to 26,400 by 2024.Job
openings can come from new jobs being created, but most come from turnover
(workers leaving).There are likely to be around 13,000 job openings over 5 years
(that’s about 2,600 a year).

Actors and Entertainers :- The number of people working as Actors, Dancers and
Other Entertainers (in their main job) grew very strongly over the past 5 years and
is expected to grow strongly over the next 5 years from 8,700 in 2018 to 9,400 by
2023.Job openings can come from new jobs being created, but most come from
turnover (workers leaving).There are likely to be around 6,000 job openings over 5
years (that’s about 1,200 a year).

Physicians :- The number of people working as Specialist Physicians (in their main
job) grew very strongly over the past 5 years and is expected to grow over the next
5 years from 7,200 in 2018 to 7,700 by 2023.Job openings can come from new jobs
being created, but most come from turnover (workers leaving).There are likely to be
around 2,000 job openings over 5 years (that’s about 400 a year).

HR Professionals : The number of people working as Human Resource Professionals


(in their main job) grew moderately the past 5 years and is expected to grow
strongly over the next 5 years from 63,900 in 2019 to 70,800 by 2023.Job openings
can come from new jobs being created, but most come from turnover (workers
leaving).There are likely to be around 59,000 job openings over 5 years (that’s
about 11,800 a year).

2. Working individually, find at least five employment ads (Advertisements),


either on the Internet or in a local newspaper, that suggest that the company
is family friendly and should appeal to women, minorities, older workers,
and single parents. Discuss what the firm is doing to be family friendly.

1. Wegman’s Food Markets :-
In addition to reimbursements for fertility treatments, lactation rooms and
paid leave to care for a sick child or relative, Wegman’s has developed a CARE
programthat acknowledges and celebrates 10 milestones at work based on those
“most families would celebrate at home.”

2. Edward Jones
This employer tempers long hours with rewards that help employees relax
and have fun – with family. Baseball game tickets and regular overnight
family retreats give employees an opportunity for down time with those they
love – on the company dime. New mothers can take up to 120 paid days off
for maternity leave.

3. Kimpton Hotels & Resorts

Kimpton like none other.” In addition to backup care for children and adults,
Kimpton cares for employees’ four-legged family members, too, offering paid
pet bereavement leave.

4. The Boston Consulting Group

innovative programsinclude flexible working models, unlimited PTO, paid
sabbaticals and backup child care. Diversity and inclusion support networks
and localized events unique to individual offices, like family “staycations,”
help give all employees a sense of belonging.
