UNIT III : COLUMNS AND CYLINDER.

 Euler‟s theory of long columns.
 Critical loads for prismatic columns with different end
conditions.
 Rankine-Gordon formula for eccentrically loaded columns.
 Eccentrically loaded short columns.
 Middle third rule.
