Song Analysis
Singer: The Eraserheads- Ely Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Buddy Zabala, and Raimund
Marasigan
Lyrics:
Kamukha mo si Paraluman
No'ng tayo ay bata pa
At ang galing-galing mong sumayaw
Mapa-Boogie man o Chacha
Tagahugas ka raw
Ng pinggan sa may Ermita
At isang gabi'y nasagasaan
Sa isang madilim na eskinita, hah

high pitch presented in the introduction and chorus of the song. For the dynamics, it

was made in a story-like kind of music, it narrates the story of the song. The musical

and rock music.
Context
The band eraserheads is well-known for songs produced that talks about love
and its many aspects; from an infatuation, to heartbreak, and to rejection. Most of their
songs lightly tackled collective views towards various social issues: from rape, to
poverty, and communal apathy. But no matter how critical their songs were, they never
failed to show their signature vibes of music. The joy and catchy music is still present in
their serious and complex songs. The human character showed in the music focused on
the love of his life which made him experience joy, love, heartbreak, and misery.
Expression
The message of the song that the composer is trying to say was the unrequited
love of a man for his childhood friend whose life unfortunately comes to a tragic end. It
basically told the story of how he first felt love, separation, and heartbreak for the death
of his love. Another hidden message expressed in the song can be found in the line, “
…at nasagasaan sa isang madilim na eskinita”, something that might deal with the
social issue of rape and murder in their times. But the main message of the song is, if
you love someone or you have a hidden affection for someone, be brave to tell and
express it. For you do not know what are the consequences, if you chose to stay back.
