Greeting
O Lord, open our lips
All and our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
Give us the joy of your saving help
All and sustain us with your life-giving Spirit.
We have come together in the name of Christ to offer our praise and thanksgiving,
to hear and receive God’s holy word, to pray for the needs of the world, and to
seek forgiveness of our sins, that by the power of the Holy Spirit we may give
ourselves to the service of God.
Prayers of Penitence
God so loved the world
That he gave his only Son Jesus Christ
To save us from our sins,
To be our advocate in heaven,
And to bring us to eternal life.
The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Sukkoth. There were about six hundred
thousand men on foot, besides women and children. Many other people went up
with them, and also large droves of livestock, both flocks and herds. With the
dough the Israelites had brought from Egypt, they baked loaves of unleavened
bread. The dough was without yeast because they had been driven out of Egypt
and did not have time to prepare food for themselves.
Now the length of time the Israelite people lived in Egypt was 430 years. At the
end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD’s divisions left Egypt. Because
the LORD kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the
Israelites are to keep vigil to honour the LORD for the generations to come.
The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “These are the regulations for the Passover
meal:
“No foreigner may eat it. Any slave you have bought may eat it after you have
circumcised him, but a temporary resident or a hired worker may not eat it.
“It must be eaten inside the house; take none of the meat outside the house. Do
not break any of the bones. The whole community of Israel must celebrate it.
“A foreigner residing among you who wants to celebrate the LORD’s Passover
must have all the males in his household circumcised; then he may take part like
one born in the land. No uncircumcised male may eat it. The same law applies
both to the native-born and to the foreigner residing among you.”
All the Israelites did just what the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron. And
on that very day the LORD brought the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions.
Alleluia!
Alleluia!
But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have
fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead
comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made
alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who
belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God
the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must
reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be
destroyed is death. For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says
that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God
himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son
himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God
may be all in all.

The Creed
Hymn
Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son;
endless is the victory, thou o’er death hast won;
angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
kept the folded grave clothes where thy body lay.
Refrain:
Thine be the glory, risen conquering Son,
Endless is the vict’ry, thou o’er death hast won.
Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb;
Lovingly he greets us, scatters fear and gloom;
let the Church with gladness, hymns of triumph sing;
for her Lord now liveth, death hath lost its sting.
Refrain:
Thine be the glory, risen conquering Son,
Endless is the vict’ry, thou o’er death hast won.
