2. Test results and maintenance performed
2.1 Shelf-test mode operates properly.
2.2 The main battery has been changed; new expiration date is displayed on the
exterior surface of beacon.
2.3 Transmitting the satellite distress:
2.3.1 Checking transmitted signal. The signal integrity and coding are in good
condition.
2.3.2 Recoding the frequency of the transmitted signal. It is within the limits.
2.3.3 Checking the output power in the shelf-test mode. It satisfies the original
manufacturer’s method.
2.4 Transmitting 121.5 MHz homing in its normal transmitting mode. The
transmitted signal is in good condition.
2.5 Testing Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). It is in good condition.
2.6 Testing waterproof integrity. It is in good condition.
2.7 Checking the equipment external labeling:
2.7.1 The manufacturer’s serial number, MMSI or call sign are in good condition.
2.7.2 The transmitted identification code is in good condition.
2.7.3 The expiration date of the battery is in good order.
2.7.4 The date when the next shore-based maintenance is due in good order.
2.7.5 Shore-based maintenance report is made and a maintenance label affixed to
the exterior of the beacon.
