Dear Parents/Guardians,

Hello, it is a pleasure to introduce myself. My name is Rodrigo Zavala-Cintora and I will

be your child’s student teacher in his/her World History Class with Mrs. Janel Vecsi. I am a
double major in Spanish and Social Studies for secondary education (grades 6th-12th) at Hope
College in Holland, Michigan. However, this semester I am studying at The Philadelphia Center
here in the city to complete my student teaching.

As part of my Social Studies major I have taken courses in World History, United States
History, Political Science, and Geography. Additionally, the education program at Hope College
has prepared me with courses ranging from Educational Psychology to Content Methodology to
Classroom Management and everything in between. I have also had field placements every
semester in college in classrooms working with students from 1st to 12th grade. I hope you can
rest assured that both The Philadelphia Center and the School District of Philadelphia provide
the highest quality education to your student, this via the highest standards in personnel
entering the classroom.

Having said that, I want to also ask for your patience and understanding as this semester
will also be one of great learning and growth for me as professional. I assure you that I, as Mrs.
Vecsi has done thus far, will put the academic and personal success of your student as the top
priority each and every day. The units we will cover while I am in your child’s class include:
Islam, the Middle Ages, the Crusades, the Renaissance and Reformation, and the Absolute
Monarchs of Europe.

I look forward to staying in contact with you with more details as we dive into learning. Please
feel free to email me with any questions or concerns at [email protected].

Thank you for your time,

Rodrigo Zavala-Cintora
