Nonmandatory Appendix E Example Calculations: Record #19-943

This document provides an example calculation of wind loads on a steel stack according to ASCE 7 and ASME STS-1-2016. It gives sample input values for a 140 foot tall stack with a diameter of 8 feet at the top 1/3 and calculates the resulting velocity pressure at the top of the stack to be 34.816 psf. The appendix also provides two tables with example calculations for velocity pressure on additional steel stacks under different wind conditions.
