INTRODUCTION
DeCenzo and Robbins:  “Recruitment is the process of discovering potential
candidates for actual or anticipated organizational vacancies. Or from another
perspective, it is a linking activity—bringing together those with jobs to fill
and those seeking jobs.”
In human resource management, “recruitment” is the process of finding and
hiring the best and most qualified candidate for a job opening, in a timely and
cost-effective manner. It can also be defined as the “process of searching for
prospective employees and stimulating and encouraging them to apply for
jobs in an organization”. It is one whole process, with a full life cycle, that
begins with identification of the needs of the company with respect to the job,
and ends with the introduction of the employee to the organization.
Definition: Recruitment is a process of recruiting potential personnel’s to fill
up the existing requirements of the organization. It is the process of
discovering potential applicants for actual or anticipated job vacancies.

Selection: Selection is the second stage of the recruitment and selection

process. It may be defined as the process of choosing the best one from
among the number of candidates.

There is always an element of prediction in the selection, making an informed

estimate as to which of the various applicants most suitable for the job being
tilled.

Each of the steps is virtually a screen, designed to eliminate unsuitable

candidates and has to be so designed as to bring out further information about
the candidates.

Decenzo & Robbins: Selection activities follow a standard pattern,

beginning with an initial screening interview and concluding with final
employment decision

Research Methodology

 Evaluate the short listed CV’s of the candidates
 Telephonic round to evaluate the candidate
 Coordination for interviews
 Evaluate candidate via selection

APPROACHES
 Online Screening and short listing using “Naukri job portal”
 Company’s Website
 LinkedIn’s Recruiting tools

Limitations

 Time Limit: Sometimes its difficult to find a exact match from job
portals within specified time
 Collecting relevant information about the candidates from the CV
 Some of the respondents could not spare much time to answer the
questionnaire because of lack of their valuable time.
 Complete information has not revealed by the companies for
administrative reasons.

CONCLUSION

The main thing that I want to conclude firstly is that with the
help of analysis, feedback generated through questionnaire I
found that the company is following an effective Recruitment
and Selection process to maximum extent.
As per my study, out of the various methods of sourcing
candidates, the best one is – getting references via references and
networking. In the process, I came across various experiences
where the role of an HR and the relevant traits he finds in the
candidates were displayed. Company should focus on long term
consistent performance rather than short term. The emphasis
towards training and enhancing skills of recruiters needs to be
more and also consistent .
