DETAILED DESCRIPTION
21st century teachers know how to provide and process experiential learning in their students by incorporating differentiated instructions and utilizing
21st century literacies that will prepare their learners as they leave the portals of the school and joined the outside world. In order for the flexible learner to be
on par in this 21st century landscape and education, he needs to undergo the following professional interventions:

 Modelling virtuous and respectable values- this training course offers meditation and recollection classes that will help learners develop and
improve in themselves values such as integrity, commitment, loyalty, open-mindedness, efficiency, etc. This course will last for three months and
requires the learners to attend the 12 sessions needed from them. Different situations that portrays variety of values and norms will be showcased in
the sessions.
 Utilizing varied classroom group and individual learning activities- this training course will enable the learners to acquire differentiated and
varied learning activities for group works such as role playing, chambers theatre, speech choir, message relay, charade, etc. and individual work
such as digital reporting, mural painting, canvass drawing and the likes that promotes facilitation, cooperation, and collaboration skills. This will surely
help the learner to be somehow effective and efficient in his classroom managerial skills and instructions.
 Applying scientific, problem solving and research-based instruction – this training course offers scientific, problem-solving and research-based
projects/ outputs that answers today’s problems/issues such as climate change, pollution, environment, politics, economics, values and norms. The
course will last for about 3 months and an oral defense of a thesis or research is needed.
 Thinking critically and imaginatively- this competencies can be learned by the leaner from a colleague who is expert in utilizing Higher Order
Thinking Skills through a Learning Partnership Program or from an INSET and LAC sessions that showcase creativity. This is done ones or twice
every quarter or as needed.
 Using digital and media literacies in the teaching-learning process- This course offers the learners skills in utilizing digital technologies that
he/she can incorporate in their teaching-learning process. The use of KAHOOT and any other forms of assessment in determining the level of the
students’ performance would make the task much easier for the teacher. The use of power director, clip grab and other movie maker application in
the presentation of one’s lesson will be very effective in engaging the students. The course requires the learner to submit projects and outputs in e-
magazines and e-books. Further, the final task of the learner before ending the course, is to record his/her demo-teaching using multimedia
applications that they could both analyses and reflect on the things that needs improvement.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT PLAN

To achieve a well-managed classroom where learners are consistently engaged in productive learning activities and in which their behavior is rarely,
if not hardly, interfered to the achievement of the desired learning outcomes of the lesson, I need to incorporate 21 st century classroom management skills
that is crucial to successful teaching and learning.
In order to do this, I designed a Personal Classroom Management Plan that assured me that all classroom activities will be very effective, formative
and positive to my learners.
Philosophical I believed that “Learning should not be monopolized by few learners.” They all have equal rights and opportunities to learn
Statement
the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values no matter what their learning styles are and their level of learnings (Fast and Slow
achievers) that would help them arise from a sinking boat and be successful sailors and productive members of our society, country and
the world. As an educationalist, I need to be very mindful of their needs, and be vigilant of the signs that could tell me that “Help,
Assistance and Guidance” is looked for, and that “Chances” to grow is distributed to all.
I believed that “Teachers are the second parents and guardians of the learners.” They need to feel that they are heard,
accepted, disciplined, respected and loved. As their second parent, I need to recognize and provide their requests and wishes. Also,
they need to realize that going to school is both child and environment friendly just like in their own homes where positive values,
norms and attitudes among siblings, parents and relatives prevail. They need to ripen a good relationship with their classmates- being
friendly and respectful at all times.
Rules and I believed that “Classroom rules and procedures should be agreed upon by both learners, parents and teacher.” Aside
Procedures
from the standard policies implemented by the school, students should have a clear understanding and should follow the set rules and
procedures inside the classroom. First, They need to realize the importance of having a proper haircut for the boys, wearing the school’s
ID and prescribed dress code (Uniform) for both male and female before entering the school and the classroom. Second, they need to
be inside the class before the first class hour begins. Third, once inside the class, they need to do their best in order to learn and
achieve the desired learning outcomes for the day. Fourth, when it is their scheduled work, they should partake in cleaning their
assigned areas of responsibilities by taking a positive attitude. Fifth, they need to hold their anger firmly and not to engage in any kind or
type of intolerable acts like punching, kicking, gossiping, murmuring, flirting and bullying. Finally, a notice letter to parents should be
given by the teacher to update them about their child’s academic, extracurricular and behavioral status.
This rules must be signed by the class Parents and Teachers Association Officers and class Student Officers and be
framed and posted near the door for everyone to be read and to be reminded as well.
Classroom I believed that “a spacious, comfortable, and friendly atmosphere is necessary for a conducive classroom.” I know the
Arrangement
fact that somehow I really don’t reach what a 21 st Century Classroom that I really want (shown on the pictures below), but I am
optimizing all the possibilities on adapting the said 21 st Century Classroom.

Misbehavior I believed that “Classrooms are a Zone of Peace.” In order to stop or minimize bad attitudes and actions from students, a set of
Interventions
positive punishments must be given to those who conduct intolerable behaviors. A learner who conducted behavioral problems such as
intentional jokes and gossip would be asked to stand in front of the class and do a comedy actions or role play that is related to the
lesson or subject discussed. While a learner who conducted behavioral problems such as kicking, punching and any other types of
bullying would be asked to report a topic to the class related to Anti-bullying.
Classroom Safety I believed that “Life is only given ones.” So, a hazard mapping activity would be done every week to check the condition of the
classroom from inside to outside and the school as a whole. The results gathered must be used for a counter measure immediately
implemented to avoid untoward incidence. In addition, a quarterly earthquake and fire drill is done every month for students to master
the DUCK, COVER and HOLD technique. Furthermore, an evacuation plan framed and posted at the back portion of the classroom
must be provided for students to know where the evacuation site is located. Finally, a contact number of Bureau of Fire, Police
Department, Hospital, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Parents and Guardians address is profiled by the teacher for
emergency purposes.
Learner I believed that “Good actions merit Good Recognitions.” To begin, a learner who does exemplary performances in academic,
Celebration
and extracurricular would be given positive rewards, awards and recognitions during classroom activities, meetings and assemblies.
Further, a learner who performed excellent behaviors and models good values would also be given awards.
This rewards and awards for both fast learners who excels in academics and extracurricular and slow learners who sometimes
excel in good values and attitudes modelling, would further inspire them to do their best in the teaching and learning process.
MY CLASSROOM
MY 21ST CENTURY CLASSROOM

REFLECTION
Being a 21st Century Teacher is both inspiring and challenging for the Flexible Learner who went through rigorous readings and studying to
be on par in today’s generation of education.

It is indeed inspiring because it has opened a lot of new experiences, perspective, concepts, ideas and principles that can be applied in the teaching-
learning process. As a teacher, there is a lot of spaces left for me to improve- to be a good captain of my ship (classroom) where my crews (learners) go sailing
safely in the harsh waters of the world (problems and challenges of this life).
In reality, the Classroom Management Plan that I crafted is not easy to achieve given the fact that it is the reverse scenario of my current classroom.
With the learnings that I have gained from this online- flexible course, I am confident that no matter what problems I might face in the future ahead of me
would just be “ a piece of cake.” In addition, I have my colleagues in the academe, my superiors, my friends and my family who are willing to give their supports
intellectually, morally and financially for the flexible learner to be successful in his quest.
Furthermore, the crafted Classroom Management Plan is there to help the flexible learner in honing his skills in terms of facilitation and managerial
skills. This is his own bible of God’s words and teachings where he could be guided accordingly in his own free will and to achieve the quality education that he
targets---- his students to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to survive and be effective in this 21 st century landscape.
Truly, teachers are modern day warriors and soldiers that strived hard, sacrificed a lot not only for academic and intellectual endeavors but also for
behavioral endeavors where learners have the right manners and good conduct once they are no longer inside the portals of the schools. KUDOS
