Terminal and Connector Inspection


1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also
be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination,
deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?
▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.
▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection


1. IG KEY "OFF".
2. Disconnect "OPU" & "PCM/TCM" connector.
3. Measure resistance between "PWM control line of opu connector" and PWM control line of PCM/TCM.

Specification : Approx. 0Ω

4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?


▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.
▶ Check power circuit open and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection


■ Circuit open Inspection
1. Ignition off & Engine off.
2. Disconnected "Oil Pump Unit connector" and PCM/TCM connector.
3. Measure a resistance between PWM line of oil pump unit and vattery power.

Specification : Infinite Ω

4. Is the measured resistance within specification?


▶ Go to "Circuit short Inspection" procedure.
▶ Check circuit open/short of harness and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair"

■ Circuit short Inspection


1. Ignition off & Engine off.

Specification : Infinite

4. Is the measured resistance within specifications?


▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.
▶ Check harness for open/circuit short. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification
Vehicle Repair" procedure.
