Processors: What Is Processor

1. A processor, also known as a central processing unit (CPU), is an electronic circuit that executes computer programs by performing the basic arithmetic, logic, controlling and input/output operations of a computer. It functions to process data and control the overall system of a computer. 2. Processors work by fetching instructions from memory, decoding and breaking down instructions, executing operations, and writing results back to memory. Key components of a processor include its clock speed, number of cores, cache size, and whether it supports hyperthreading. 3. Multi-core processors have multiple independent processing cores on a single chip which allows parallel processing of multiple tasks. Popular processor brands are Intel and AMD.

Processors

good night miss, good night everyone. Thank you for coming today
to attend my presentation. before that, let me introduce myself,
my name is dicky from class 17 sh, and this time I will bring material
about the processor. but here I will not discuss in detail about the
processor, only about basic knowledge about the processor
because of the limited time available.

and here is the material that I will bring about the processor. first
"what is a processor", the second "how it works", the third....

enter in the first material

what is processor
A processor or Central Processing Unit (CPU) is an electronic circuit that can execute
computer programs.
A processor is the logic circuitry that responds to and processes the basic instructions that
drives a computer.
A computer processor analyzes data and controls data flow in a computer.

Processor is one of the important components of a computer that functions to process data
and control the system that is on a computer. The processor can also be called the brain of a
computer. In short, the processor works to perform calculations and execute commands
that are ordered by performing basic arithmetic, logic, control, and input / output (I / O)
operations that are determined by instructions by the computer user itself.

1. Working of Processor
The working of the processor mainly consist four steps i.e. Fetch, decode, execute and write.

Fetch : during the fetch step, the processor retrieves program instructions from memory.
The first step here involves taking instructions represented by numbers or sequences of
numbers from program memory.

Decode : in this step, the instruction is broken down into parts.

After the instruction that the CPU fetches from memory is used to determine what the CPU
is to do. In the decode step, the instruction is broken up into parts that have significance to
other portions of the CPU. Often, one group of numbers in the instruction, called the
opcode, indicates which operation to perform. The remaining parts of the number usually
provide information required for that instruction, such as operands for an addition
operation.

Execute : cpu performs the operation implied by the program instructions.

During this step, various portions of the CPU are connected so they can perform the desired
operation.

Write back : during the write back step, the processor writes back the results of execution,
to the computer's memory

Simply, the way the processor works is to receive input commands either from the mouse,
keybord or other data input device that is connected, then then translate or process the
command data to then issue or forward the output to the hardware or related software.

memori komputer

2. Basic knowledge about processor

Clock speed : Clock speed is a measure of how quickly a computer completes basic
computations and operations. It is measured as a frequency in hertz. Generally this speed
varies 2.4-3.4 GHz.
Core : A processor core is a hardware unit in the processor architecture that can execute
instructions sent to it.
Hyper threading : Thread are the virtual core and work like a real core inside cpu. When
cores assembled with multi threads then it is known as Hyper threading technology.
Cache : The cache is the first block of RAM which interact between the main memory and
CPU using cache controller chip. This memory helps processor to fetch instructions in quick
routine and is very faster than RAM
here I give an example of a processor that is an Intel Core i9-9900k which has 8 cores and 16
threads, with a clock speed of 3.6 ghz and a cache of 16MB

Kecepatan clock: Kecepatan clock adalah ukuran seberapa cepat komputer menyelesaikan
komputasi dasar dan operasi. Ini diukur sebagai frekuensi dalam hertz. Umumnya kecepatan

3. What is multi core processors?

for example like this picture,
Single core: Has one core to process different operations like intel Pentium.
Dual core : Has two cores to process operations; able to process more information at the
same time compare to single core like intel core i3 and i5.
Quad core: Contains two dual core processors in one integrated circuit and generally used
for multi tasking like intel core i7.

4. brands of processor

Intel : The Intel computer processor is exclusively designed by Intel. Its latest and most
popular models include Intel hyper thread technology that speed up processor speed .
AMD : The AMD computer processor is exclusively made by Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
(AMD). It provides excellent performance and value. It is compatible with most off-the-shelf
computer programs and applications. Some AMD Computer Processors are programmed
with built-in anti- virus protection
