Introduction for This Whole Project:

Health and social services are a very important part of the United Kingdom. A practitioner in
the UK provides the health support from the early care to rehabilitation. It is done by the
close relationship with the doctors or the medical practitioners. These practitioners always
provide support to the patients and their family. These practitioners well skilled and they
have the strong social skills as it needs to communicate with the patients. In health and social
care, there are several elements of biology, Sociology, Nutrition, and law and ethics. Based
on this topic, in this project, it will be discussed about the principles of support as well as
how these services protected the clients and patients. There are several questions that will be
answered based on the case study. At the last, there will be a discussion on the own
contribution in development and the implementation of health and social care organizational
policy.
Task 1:

Understand how principles of support are implemented in Health and Social Care
practice

1.1 The health and social care system is successfully recognized according to the principles.
Then the question arises what is the principles. What does it stand for; the principles can be
summarised as a guiding manner.

There are many sections in health and social care, which provides the healthcare to the
common people with special needs. These health and services work on the philosophy of
Care to support people who are helpless by implementing the right legislation. This
legislation provides a right path to support or protect the service of a user for impairment and
exploitation. Principles are just the rules or the guidelines. The principle of support can be
applied to ensure that persons are cared for by promoting the anti-biased practice. That means
this legislation help those people who are not getting equal respect or people are treating
them less sympathetic (Bulmer, 2015)

1.2 Protections are very much needed for those who need it, those who are the special ones.
The protection can be done in two ways firstly; it can be done by protecting the rights of the
people or by protecting them from any kind of harm. Secondly, it can be done by
safeguarding people from the abuse. In this kind of law, it will help to develop, execute and
to make examination policies and it will help to understand the risk of harm to the clients and
the patients. Therefore, protection in health and social care means to safeguard the clients or
patient for harm and abuse. The checklist of the pointed area has enclosed the existing policy
of the law. The hospitals or the staff will be enforcing the philosophy of care, how it will
protect the entire hospital and the patients. The training session can be conducted for the staff
when they will start the work. This will help the staff about the importance and the
knowledge of the workplace. This training will provide knowledge on how to protect the
users from harm (Handler, 2014). Apart from that, the home care can encourage the clients
or the patients about their safety. Like they can always have the emergency numbers as well
as they need to know about secure the first aid kits and provide training how to use them. We
need to protect the persons at the hospitals and the home care as there are many cases
regarding that. For example, four people were arrested in the UK for abusing a patient in the
home care, as the people do not know how to handle a challenge person and they are torturing
him.

1.3 The concept of person-centered approach was developed by the Psychologist Dr. Carl
Rogers (Freeth, 2017) Dr. Rogers has advanced the approach to psychotherapy and
counseling at that time. The theory is important for the health and social services as it
provides many benefits.

 This approach will provide conformability and confidence in the patients: in this
Approach, the patient will trust on the medical practitioner and the methods so that
the practitioner will able to heal him as early as possible.
 By this approach, the medical practitioner will able to meet their emotional, social
and the practical needs that will help them to maintain the high quality.
 With the help of this approach, the practitioner will able to help those who cannot
express themselves or who cannot communicate normally. This will help the approach
a practitioner will able to understand the needs of the patient to provide the quality of
care.

1.4 Ethical dilemma means a decision-making problem, which occurs between the two
possible moral essential were both of them are acceptable however choosing one can prevent
the other. For an example, if a patient who is in near death the common ethical dilemma will
include the artificial nutrition's and telling the patient the truth about his health. However,
there is a chance for him to be recovered while making him happy as the research said a
happy person recovers fast. Therefore, these are some of the cases of the ethical dilemma
which affect the healthcare or the social care provider faces in their profession (Doherty &
Purtilo, 2015).
Task 2:

Executive Summary

This section tends to focus on the regulation and legislation which are vital to managing a
health and social care organization. Every employee should take responsibility to keep the
work environment healthy and as per organizational ethics. In this section, we will know the
importance and impacts of various policies used in a health sector. Every medication kit and
other chemical materials used in the treatment should be kept in a safe place so that other
unauthorized persons cannot cause any kind of accidents. In addition, all the workers should
be well trained to keep a hygienic work environment. Additionally, it is recommended to
keep surveillance in all the departments to avoid violation of laws inside the work area.
Management also should maintain safety precautions and various guidelines to maintain good
services.
Introduction

In this section, the study will focus on various ethics and relevant policies which are
implemented in a Social and Healthcare company and how these factors will effect towards
the personal growth and development. Here the prime focus is given on the personal
experience of a staff who works in Churchill Residential Care Home. Strict company policies
and laws will definitely affect the behavioral ethics of a staff. Similarly, when the staff feels
difficulties to adjust with rules, it will reflect on the services given by the staff. Therefore, all
the rules and regulations should be planned and applied delicately in order to maintain the
standard of the organization. Additionally, all departments inside the organization premises
should be monitored carefully to maintain the organizational policy.
2.1 Execution of laws and policies and ethical manners that are relevant to
work in a healthcare

It is really important to implement rules and regulations as per the National and local laws to
ensure best services in a health and social care workplace. The employees must follow all the
rules and policies every time (inside and outside the workplace). The management must make
sure that services are given with best qualities and as according to policy. As per the Data
Protection Act, only a reliable person can only access these policies. All the workers should
follow this act. Another one vital act is COSSH (Control of Substance Hazardous to Health
Regulation) Act. As per this act, workers can use the chemical materials only when it is
required. Remaining times all these things such as detergents, chemical elements, bleaching
agents and other similar products must be kept locked in a safe place to avoid accidents.
Medical instruments should be kept in a secured place and authorized persons only should
have access to those kinds of stuff. Regularly checking safety guidelines is a prime duty of
these employees. Warning boards and safety precaution guidelines must be clearly mentioned
so that everybody can see those. In addition, all the workers must be trained well to keep the
place risk free. Moreover, the fire exit paths also should be kept clean and hassle-free.

2.3 Assess the impact of these laws, regulation, and policies

The company has to do everything as per the implemented policies. An organized work
environment should be created for all the employees. It will help in the smooth operation of
policies. Any kind of violation will not be accepted at all. If a worker does such things,
he/she might be lost their job or will be penalized for actions. However, a worker can reveal
some data regarding organization only if he is permitted to do so.

As per the report, there was a violation done regarding the treatment of a patient. During a
surprise sting operation done by BBC, they found some illegal practices are being done in a
reputed mental hospital in the UK. A patient with mental disabilities was tortured by a group
of four peoples. They presented a video as evidence to this claim. After this incident, The
Care Quality Commission (CQC) was asked to look into the matter. They found the patient
was verbally abused as well was forced to wear cold wet cloths during the treatment. After
this investigation, an internal review was also done to validate the initial report. However, all
these four employees were found guilty and sent to jail.

This kind of incidents must not happen in a social healthcare workplace. To prevent such
case, regular monitoring should be done on the everyday basis. It will ensure whether the
employees are following the laws and guidelines or they are violating it. If someone found
guilty, the management gives a formal warning to the worker. In an extreme scenario, the
employer also can terminate the worker from duties.
Conclusion

Based on the above context, one can say that maintaining the rules and laws are really
important in a social and healthcare organization. This kind of organization plays a vital role
in serving society. If any of the workers do not follow the rules, he can be punished in order
to maintain the moral values of the company. Moreover, the management should take
precautions to handle all the employees and should take necessary actions to organize and
sustain a healthy work environment. In addition, the management has to keep a hygienic
environment to provide a quality service to the patients. All the medication tools and
chemical substances also should be kept in a safe place to avoid various kinds of accidents.
Introduction:

Nowadays the world's largest industry emerged in the market is the healthcare industry. The
life expectancy has increased and improved the overall quality only due to the improvements
in the health care. The principles of health social practices have made the service industry
much more potential. It is progressing according to needs of the patients and reactions;
actually, it is providing a healthy life by understanding the facts. Many educated and
technical professionals are forwarding towards this sector after the government made some
changes, it is actually attracting the attention of the people as the government started
providing new facilities. However, it is very important to understand the basic procedure of
the caregiver, to reach this position. There are many care homes but couldn’t provide good
care due to lack of people and adequate manner.
Be Able to contribute to the development and implementation of health and social care
organizational policy.

Due to the social care organization and their services by implementing health care facilities
and get immense support from the patients and many other charitable organizations who are
willing to donate to the care homes. In recent years, the changes come to the effect as the
demand of the health and social organizations has increased a lot. The principle of support
will make the significant changes that will guide to aid in by providing guarantees to the
effective health and social care to be delivered to customers.

4.1 Explain own role, responsibilities, accountabilities, and duties in the context of
working with those within and outside the health and social care workplace.

Depending on the basis of priority I would like to focus on a few points to show the
responsibilities and duties regarding my work within and outside the health and social care
workplaces. The cleanliness and the hygienic food quality must be maintained in every care
home every time that should be the first priority of the organization, the issue related to the
homes must be solved within the short period of time and it should be checked by the
qualitative staffs by following the quality policies. There should be certain protocols that
every staff need to maintain because in every organization if any kind of violation happens
that had to keep in mind because policies of safety are included in the care homes. There
should be a proactive team or a few expertise that can deal in the time of emergency
regarding the home care elderly and always needs to be ready with an intellectual plan to be
triggered on those situations. For the experienced people, proper training is very crucial
because to handle the elder people is not a matter of ease. That’s why good guidance and
training is very important to the caregivers. The inspections of the home care must be the top
priority and to understand the needs of the patients makes a successful organization.

4.2 Evaluate own contribution to the development and implementation of health and
social care organizational policy

It is noticeable that as I am working in a social and health organization, my contributions are

very vital in the development and implementation of that organizational policy. Anyone's
contribution is crucial as it is allowing others to get involved in and getting convinced by
looking on the works of the team and being the manager of the organization it is very
important to protect every matter of vulnerable population and had to stay in the defensive
line. I will be accountable for acquiring or restoring resources to make the encouragement to
the best standards in practice according to the law of protection of clients. It is basically
dependent on the human rights, the caseloads are getting handled efficiently by engaging the
ethical standards and progressing to the augmented knowledge professionally, the work is
influential in contributing to the care quality. The most important problem that needs to be
immediately addressed in the care home for old aged people is of abuse. The old aged abuse
is not known to many officials also. To look into this matter a formal committee is required,
if the staff members found guilty should be given a strict punishment and also suspending
their services from the care center and to an issue a certificate so no other company could
even re-employ at all.

4.3 Make recommendations to develop own contributions to meeting good practice

requirements.

A number of recommendations to be made for the development and implementation of the

organizational policies to make new facilities more efficient and more organized. To avoid
the undue emergencies any precautionary plan must be sketched in the mind of the experts.
The manager had to monitor on the critical activities of the care home personally to make
sure regarding any untoward incidents. For evaluation of the basic guidelines or the
necessities of the care home, we need to appoint separate committee members to monitor.
The care quality commission must be updated regularly regarding al the faulty activities in
the care home. Protocols need to made more strict to keep the health and hygiene of the care
home and to a group of members required to ensure the process of implantation of protocols
are going in the proper way or not. It is very important for the manager to ensure that every
staff is well equipped to perform their duties in the home care. The policy of staff rotation is
very important for any organization as it helped to keep the record of every staff in a proper
way at the home care center. Staff rotation process is also helpful to ensure the old aged
people are not getting abused by any particular staff or making any wrong practices in the
care center. The dealing with the old aged people should be polite and fair so there would be
no discrimination or biases coming under the parameters of the authority. There must be
regular health check-up system free of cost and also need the arrangements of a visit by
specialist doctors on the care home to give some extra benefits to the old aged people. A
friendly and wrong environment needs to be kept to ensure the elders are willing to become a
part of it and enjoy the better quality of life.
Conclusion:

The concept of social care and helping the old people are gaining day by day because of the
complexity of families and the changing of the lifestyle of the generation. It is important to
open a home care but the most important thing is to keep it maintains by following the rules
and regulations of the government as well as the care home certification. Only those people
must get the certification who could offer better quality and the better life for the aged
people. By offering better services would help to earn more customer base as well as good
fame on the society and recommendations will be more than expectation. But all the
problems will get resolved after the recommended issues get sorted out on this field.
The conclusion of the Whole Project:

Based on the project it could be understood that there are several factors that can affect the
health and social care services. Health and social services are very much necessary in the
United Kingdom. Care workers or the health worker are playing important role in health care
sector as they are providing services to the users. These health and services is a social worker,
which is operated by the medical practitioners. By the help of this project, it can understand
that how the health and social care help the individual as well as the person who need special
care as well as the health workers must follow the rules and regulations of the organization.
There is one case study in this project by which a report has been made on how the legislation
or the codes of practices are relevant in the health and social care. At the last, there is one
essay on how the health worker can contribute to the development and implementation of
health and social care policy is included.
