Reference Letter for Emily Lane

As the leadership coach working in the Humboldt District the last four years, I am writing this
letter in support of Emily Lane, an instructional coach interested in becoming an administrator.

Emily has had teaching experience at the middle school and high school levels in two different
school districts. With this experience, she has worked with various subjects in the field of
science at different levels as well as differentiating instruction to meet the needs of students,

Humboldt Schools has been very fortunate to have an individual like Emily working with the
teachers and students as the high science teacher for the last five years. She works to meet the
academic and social needs of her students each day. Emily always goes beyond the call of duty
to build relationships with the students and is willing to meet with students before and after
school when extra assistance is needed.

Over the last three years, Emily has assumed leadership roles in the district as the middle/high
school science instructional coach and most recently the MTSS coach at the high school level.
She has regularly attended workshops and meetings to enhance her coaching skills. She even
took advantage of attending a RTI Conference in Madison, Wisconsin, this year to deepen her
skills so could better lead the task force around MTSS at Humboldt High School. She has done
an excellent job in these roles by taking on any task that has been asked of her.

Her positive personal relationship skills enable her to work effectively with the different types of
individuals in our building. Her communication skills are strong; she is well organized and is
willing to look for creative solutions to problems she encounters. She always demonstrates a
positive approach in all situations.

As I stated above, I would highly recommend Emily for a leadership role,
