    Create a Cover Assignment

    Task: 
    1. Choose a song that you enjoy outside of class. (It can be any genre/style that you enjoy,
    I want to know what music you like to listen to) (Must be appropriate, no swearing, no
    negative message).
    2. Think about the elements of the music in the song that you like and elements that you
    think could be done differently.
    3. Ask the teacher to print the sheet music for the song and look at the musical elements
    that are included in the music. Mark the music using a pencil to demonstrate these
    different musical elements. Make notes for yourself in what you like and what you want
    to change. You will be handing this in as your written portion of this project. 
    4. You will be doing a cover of the song individually or in groups and perform your cover
    on a selected date. You must change at least 5 musical elements from the original. Be
    creative, think of ways in which you will show your own musical touch. Elements you
    change could be:
    1. Instrumentation; add different instruments, take some away, play piano rather
    than guitar etc. 
    2. Vocals; add harmonies, change the vocal arrangement, change the key to suit
    your voice etc.
    3. Style; change the style of the piece, jazz-pop, pop-rock, electronic-acoustic etc. 
    4. Musical Elements; dynamics, tempo, song structure etc. 
    a. Note: You may also create an arrangement for the whole class if you wish.

    * In total, you will include the marked score, a viewing of the original song, and a performance
    of your new version if you choose to. *
