Section 1: Individual Assignment (15%)

Topic 1

Discuss limitations and challenges of MIS and recommend a set of proposal for increasing the
effectiveness of MIS in the decision making process.

Topic 2

While globalization and information technology are exciting, they are also carriers of threats to
existing economies and businesses. Discuss the difficulties brought about by this new
environment.

Topic 3

Evaluate the impact of contemporary information systems and the Internet on the protection of
individual privacy and intellectual property.

Report Submission: Week 6 of semester during class hour. Number of page is 6-7 only, excluding
cover page, Table of Content, Reference and turnitin report.
Section 2: Group Assignment (10%)

Analyzing a Business System

In a group with three or four classmates, find a description in a computer or business magazine
of an information system used by an organization. Look for information about the company on
the Web to gain further insight into the company, and prepare a brief description of the
business. Describe the system you have selected in terms of its inputs, processes, and outputs
and in terms of its organization, management, and technology features, and the importance of
the system to the company, security measures, and challenges, also ethical and social issues.
(20%)

Report Submission: Week 9 of semester during class hour. Number of page is 7-9 only, excluding
cover page, Table of Content, Reference and turnitin report, attached with your presentation
slides.

You are to do group presentation for your report findings on week 9. Please refer to
presentation assessment criteria.
