Hard Hat Hi Visibility Vests
Hearing Protection Safety Boots

Task/Activity Potential Hazard Recommended Procedures


1. Inspection mechanical problems, vandalism,  Conduct pre-trip
tampering, Slip or fall. inspection.
 Maintain 3-point contact
when mounting or
dismounting.
 Check steps and
platforms for slip
resistance.
 Ensure back-up alarm is
functional.
2. Start up Unstable ground, work crew,  Assess ground condition.
public.  Make sure crew and public
are safe distance from
bobcat
 start machine when safe.
3. Travel to start area. Uneven ground, Work crew,  Be aware of whereabouts
other equipment and public of crew.
 Check mirrors.
 Travel at safe speed.
 Use extra caution when
backing up.
 Be aware of the traveling
public.
4. operating bobcat Steep grades.  Make sure ground is
stable and seatbelt is on.
 If ground is unstable then
stay back.
 Do not operate bobcat
where chance of rollover
may occur, use alternate
means.

height of machine is away
from building.
 Always be aware of
perimeters of bobcat
 Be aware of pedestrians
and surroundings.
6.. Re-fuelling Fire, skin contact, spillage  Stop on level ground.
 Apply parking brake.
 Stop engine and turn off
ignition.
 No smoking.
 Do not over fill.
 Wear PPE to avoid
contact.
 Ensure location of spill kit
