Download and Install: Windows

1. Go to https://jami.net/ and click on the button that says “Download Jami”.

2. Select “Download Jami (64-bit)”. You will receive a pop-up, click “Save”, and your file will
begin downloading. In Microsoft Edge, you can instead click “Run” and the executable will
launch upon download.
3. Run the executable program that you just downloaded through your browser. It is located in
different places in each browser:

Chrome (bottom left-hand corner)

Firefox (top right-hand corner, on menu bar)

Microsoft Edge (bottom of the browser)

4. The program will launch into an installation wizard. Follow the steps by accepting the
licensing agreement, and it will install.
5. Upon finishing the installation, the program will launch. Select “Create Local Account”.

6. Next, select a profile image or use your web camera to take a picture. Choose your profile
name (I recommend your actual name), though this is optional. Next, choose your public
username (how people can search for you). Keep “Register public username” selected. This will
ensure that you keep your username. I recommend creating a password so that you can log into
your account on another device, but it is not necessary.
7. Click “Next”. You might receive a Windows Firewall pop-up. Check the “Private Networks”
option, and then “Allow Access”. This will take you back to set up.

8. Choose whether or not to backup your account. This will create a file on your machine that
you can later select to log into your local account if you delete and re-download Jami. If you’ve
created a password account, this is not necessary.
9. And now you’re in! To find another user, just search their public username at the upper left-
hand corner of the program.

Note: You can also add another account by clicking on your username at the top right-hand
corner where your profile image is.
Download and Install: Android

1. Navigate to the Google Play store.

Search for Jami and download. Once
installed, select “Open” to begin setting
up your profile.

2. Select “Create Jami Account”.

3. Choose your public username. This is
what we will use to find you.

4. Enter your profile name (I recommend

your actual name). You may also select a
profile image or take one with your phone’s
camera. You may also choose to skip this
step and only use your public username.
5. And you’re in! To find another user, select “Start Conversation” and search for their public
username.
