Past Simple Passive

- Rule: To form the past simple passive, use the past simple form of the
verb to be and the past participle of the main verb.

The car was destroyed in the accident, and two people were injured.

- We use the passive when it isn’t important who does the action, or
when we don’t know who does it
- Sometimes when we use the passive (present or past), we want to say
who or what did the action.

To do this, we use the word by + noun.

A lot of mistakes are made by students. He was arrested by the


police.

I. Complete these sentences with the verbs in brackets. Use the


past simple passive.
