Shell Oil 9156

Emulsifiable type engine coolant inhibitor, used in the water cooling system of
diesel engines, to protect against corrosion

Applications
• Cooling systems of diesel engines Performance Features and Benefits
This product provides cooling system corrosion
protection for engines used in standby power,
• Good emulsion stability
marine, railway engines, construction or other
• Protects also yellow metals against
mobile or stationary applications, particularly MTU
corrosion
designs, for which the product was originally
developed. • Good wetting properties
• Prevents cavitation
The use of a corrosion inhibitor in the cooling fluid • Good oxidation stability
is important to keep the cooling system in good
condition. Shell Oil 9156 has also been found to
protect against the cavitation damage that can Specification and Approvals
sometimes occur in diesel engines, due to Mercedes Benz Blatt 311
vibrations from the combustion process. MTU MTL 5047
