PRODUCT A high build Epoxy zinc phosphate primer containing inert and anticorrosive pigments. This
material is specially designed to give fast output and excellent corrosion resistance under

Can be applied up to 200 micron DFT in single coat.
DESIGNED USE As a chemically resistant primer for process equipment, pipe work etc.
As a general maintenance coating for onshore and offshore installations
Suitable as primer for upto C4 Environment as per ISO12944 Part 2 along with suitable
intermediate and topcoats

SURFACE For best results, the surface should be treated as follows prior to painting.
Remove all wax, oil and grease by solvent cleaning in accordance with the guidelines given by
PREPARATION SSPC-SPI.
Where necessary remove weld spatter and round off all rough weld seams and sharp edges to a
smooth surface. Special care must be taken on weld areas to remove flux and spatter. Welds should
be ground back to avoid pockets where corrosion can occur.
Abrasive blast-clean to a minimum standard of Sa 2½ Swedish Standard SIS 055900 or ISO 8501-
1: 1988.
Any surface defects revealed by blast cleaning should be ground, filled or treated in a suitable
manner.
An average surface profile of 50 microns is acceptable, but this average should not exceed 75
microns.
After blasting, remove dust from the surface.
The cleaned surface should be coated before it becomes contaminated. The surface to be coated
must also be clean and dry.
This product should be over coated with Berger range of 2 pack products.
PRODUCT USE This product is designed as a primer. It should not remain long without over coating. If directly
RESTRICTIONS exposed to sunlight and outdoor conditions this product will chalk as in case with all epoxy
products.
This product is not suitable for use in immersed conditions without a topcoat.
Dry heat resistance up to 120°C.
May also be applied between 75 and 200 Microns DFT.

SAFETY Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing such as overalls, goggles,
PRECAUTIONS dust masks and gloves. Use a barrier cream.
Ensure that there is adequate ventilation in the area where the product is being applied. Do not
breathe vapour or spray.
This product is flammable. Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not smoke. Take precautionary
measures against static discharge. In case of fire – blanket flames with foam, carbon dioxide or dry
chemicals

FIRST AID Eyes: In the event of accidental splashes, flush eyes with water immediately and obtain medical
advice
Skin: Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water or approved industrial cleaner.
DO NOT USE solvent or thinners.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air, loosen collar and keep patient rested.
Ingestion: In case of accidental ingestion, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING.
