CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY
A. Background
English is a language that has been patented as a second language by
almost all countries in the world. The existence of English itself cannot be
separated from our daily lives. And without us knowing, it requires a deep
discussion so that everyone can understand and use English well. Among the
many materials that must be discussed for studying English, tenses are the
main material that must be mastered by everyone. The material is basic
material that most people consider trivial. Tenses itself consists of various
types, including Simple Present Tense, Simple Past Tense, Present Future
Tense, Present Perfect Tense, Simple Future Tense, and many more. However,
in this paper, we will only discuss one tenses, namely Simple future tense
which is a basic tenses to learn.
B. Problem Formulation
From the background explanation above, we get a problem statement,
which is as follows:
1. What is the meaning of Simple future tense?
2. What is the Simple Future Tense verb and Nomina formula?
3. How to use Simple future tense?

DISCUSSION
Shall rarely used. Usually Shall for Subject I and We (I shall ..., We
shall ....) and not for others. But more often people use I will ... and We
will ... So for I and We may use either will or shall. While other Subjects
such as HE, SHE, IT, YOU, THEY, WE all use Will.
2. Be going to be used for more definite events / promises / plans that are
most likely to happen.
Example:
o We are going to study together at 06.30 pm
o They are going to library at Sunday

o I am going to airport tonight
3. Time Signal:
The time signature commonly used in the form of Simple Future Tense
is as follows

i. next Sunday

m. as soon as

Example :
- He will not watch his favorite movie.
- He is not going to eat at restaurant tonight.
c. Interrogative
Will/shall + Subject + verb I + object?
Am/is/are +Subject + going to + verb I + objek?
Example :
- Will he watch his favorite movie?
- Is he going to eat at restaurant tonight?
Information:
To be (Is, am, are)
- Am used for subject I
- Is used for subjects He, She, It (single subject)
- Are used for the subject You, We, They (plural subjects)

Subject + am/is/are + going to + verb month

Negative Subject + will/shall + not + verb I + I will not go to Bali

2. Nominal sentence
Nominal Sentences are sentences whose predicate is not a verb but a
noun (Noun), adjective (Adjective) or complement (Complement).
a. Positive
Subject + will/shall + be + Complemet

Subject + to be (is, am, are)+ going to + be + Complement
Contoh :
- Tono will be at home tonight.
- She is going to be a teacher.
b. Negative
Subject + will/shall + not + be + Complemet
Subject + to be (is, am, are) + not +going to+ be + Complement
Example :
- Tono will not be at home tonight.
- She is not going to be a teacher.
c. Interrogative
Will/shall +Subject + be + Complemet?
To be (is, am, are) +Subject+going to + be + Complement?
Example:
- Will Tono be at home tonight?
- Is she going to be a teacher?

Tense means a verb or collection of words used to express a time
relationship. In nominal sentences can not be used as a passive sentence.
Active sentences only have objects that can be used as passive sentences.
Simple Future Tense is a form of tenses that are used to show or explain
something that will happen in the future (future). Simple future is formed from
verb-1 (future tense) or verb-3 (passive voice). Simple future tense is used to
state:
1. Used to declare an action that will be done in the future.
2. Used to make an appointment in the future
3. Used to indicate conditions
4. Used to beg someone to do something
