SPECIFIC COURSE INFORMATION
a. Course Description
A study of the different amplifier networks using ac model. Focus is on the ac analysis of BJT and FET amplifiers, compoun
configurations, operational amplifiers, feedback and oscillator circuits. Students are expected to demonstrate skills in th
analysis and design of various amplifier networks
b. Prerequisites ECE 001(Electronic Devices and Circuits); EE002(Electrical Circuits 1); MAT
011(Advanced Engineering Mathematics)
Co-requisites None
c. Course Classification Required
(Required/elective/
selected elective)
SPECIFIC GOALS FOR THE COURSE
a. Course Objective
The course aims introduce the small signal analysis of BJT and FET amplifiers, compound amplifier circuits and it
applications, concepts of feedback and oscillator circuits, and equip students with the essential skills in analyzin
operational amplifier configurations and applying it in the design of a working prototype.
b. Course Outcomes
By the end of the course, the students will be able to:
1. Evaluate the parameters of BJT and FET amplifiers using systems approach. (a,b)
2. Analyze the frequency response of BJT and FET amplifiers. (a)
3. Solve the compound configurations using dc and ac parameters. (b)
4. Examine the operation of operational amplifiers, feedback, oscillators and digital electroniccircuits. (b,e)
5. Design an op-amp based working prototype project. (a,b,e)
6. Reflect on personal transformation along the TIP graduate attributes.
