Opening a File
To open an existing file choose File | Open Design… or simply click on the open file button:
Alternatively you may wish to load a quickstart design directly from the File | Quickstart… menu item.
The dialog will present you with a choice of a number of different designs. Just choose the type of vessel, enter the overall dimensions and click OK:

Note: This function is only enabled when a blank design is open. To close a design click on the Close Design Button from the File toolbar:
Adding and viewing a Surface
1) From a blank design (you may need to close your old design), add a surface from the Surfaces | Add Surface | Simple Yacht… menu item.
Note: A dialog may appear asking you to assign the design to a project. Click Cancel.
2) Navigate to the perspective view by clicking on the perspective view button.
3) Turn on parametric curves.
4) Turn on rendering. Note: button is enabled when Perspective is current view, click in window to make current.
Manipulating a Surface
Surfaces are manipulated by editing the position of control points. Control points can be thought of handles attached to the surface via a spring.
1) For control points to appear make sure the surface is unlocked and 2) the Control net is turned on. 3) Click on the control point and drag to alter
the shape of the connected surface. This process can be done in any of the view windows.

Note: Properties of the currently selected object appear in the Properties pane. If the pane is empty click on the surface.
Calculating Hydrostatics
To calculate Hydrostatics of the vessel the frame of reference (including position of the waterline) must first be set up. The Frame of Reference
dialog is accessed via Data | Frame of Reference… The Hydrostatics at DWL are calculated from Data | Calculate Hydrostatics…
