Did you all understand class? Class: Yes we did!

4. Discussion
Our topic this morning is all about,
Effects of Earth’s Motion.
I have here a globe. This is the
representation of our earth.
Claass: Yes Teacher.
Earth is a magnificent planet. Right?

Living in our planet, Have you ever

observed or wondered if sun rises
every day and set every night, where
does it go why we can’t see it?
Milo do you have any idea?
Milo: For me teacher the sun goes
nowhere, it is actually us go
somewhere because we are on the
earth and our planet is always
spinning or turning.
Brilliant idea, Milo Jane.
Let’s give five claps to Milo Jane.
Correct it is actually we or our planet
goes somewhere. Imagine a line
passes through the center of the
earth that goes through with north
pole and south pole.
What do you think we can called that
invisible line? Yes, Imee?

Imee: The axis, Teacher.

Very good!
Earth spin around axis. The spinning
movement is what also we called?
Yes, Julife? Juliefe: Rotation, Teacher.

Excellent! It is the earth’s rotation.

Earth rotation is what we define “the
movement of an object on its axis”. It
is also the reason why we experience
day and night.
If we are on the side that spins away
from the sun, its night and if we are in
the side facing the sun, it is day.
Does the earth standing straight when
it spins on its axis?
Class: No, Teacher.

Very good.
Our Earth’s actually rotates from east
to west or counter clockwise and it is
not standing straight but actually it is
tilted about 23.5 degrees.
Do you have an idea about how
much does it takes to complete one
rotation of our planet?
Yes, Erika?
Erika: The period of one complete
rotation takes 23 hours, 56 minutes
and 4.3 seconds or shall we say 24
hours a day.
Does the wind also change when
earth rotates? Mardi?

Mardi: Yes teacher. It is called the

Coriolis Effect with describes as the
defection of the wind due to its
Awesome! rotation
Let us proceed to the second effects
of earth’s motion. What do you think it
is?
Yes, Mark do you have any idea? Mark: Earth’s Revolution, Teacher.
Excellent Mark!
Earth’s revolution is the movement of
an object around the bigger object.
If the earth rotates on its axis, Where
does our planet revolves?
Do you have any idea Lyka?
Lyka: It revolves on the slightly
flattened circle called eclipses,
Teacher.
Is Lyka correct class? Class: Yes she is
Here is your star Lyka.
Earth revolves around the sun as it
rotates.
Now, how long does our planet takes
to complete one revolution?
Yes Glecel?
Glecel: It takes 365.24 solar days or
365 and 5 hours, 48 minutes and 46
seconds.
Is Glecel correct Daisy? Daisy: Yes she is.
Excellent! Here is your star!

If our planet earth is spinning and

create day and night. What do you
think will be the result of its
revolution?
Yes April? April: I think the result will be the
occurrence of the seasonal changes,
Teacher.
Brilliant idea, April.
If we say season it is define as.
Crishna: “Season is define as the
Kindly read Crishna. short periods of climatic changes
cause by the changes in the amount
of solar radiation an area receives.”

If we do this, what have you observe?

(Doing something in the globe)
Irish? Irish: Different areas of earth receive
different amounts of solar radiation,
while I notice that the places near the
equator receives constant solar
radiation.
Very well said, Irish.
Different areas of earth receive
different amounts of solar radiation
that’s why we are experiencing
seasonal changes that creates a
pattern throughout the year.

What are those seasonal changes am

I referring to, Kriscelle?
Kriscelle: The 4 Seasons Teacher,
Spring, summer, fall and winter.
Is Kriscelle correct, Clarrise? Clarrise? Yes she is.

Excellent!
Since our earth is tilted one of the
Hemisphere just half of our planet is
leaning towards the sun and half of it
is leaning away.

Kindly read what happen in spring

season, Michelle?
Michelle: Spring runs from March 1
to May 31. The weather is warmer
and often wetter. Animals wake or
return from warmer climates, often
with new borns.
Thank you Michelle.
Kindly locate and paste this paper on
where does the spring occur in given
illustration. Bel? Bel: (Walking in front)

Is she correct, Bless? Bless: Yes she is.

Great Job.

How about in summer, what do you

observe and what month actually
does it occur? Yes, Sheenah?
Sheenah: I think, In the month of
June to December the Northern
Hemisphere is getting a lot of
sunlight. This means we will also
experience warmer temperatures,
longer days and shorter nights.

Is she correct, Camille? Camille: Yes she is.

Kindly locate also where does the

summer occur in this illustration.
Excellent Sheenah and Camille.
Now can you share also your
thoughts about what happen during
autumn? Angielyn?
Angielyn: In the autumn or fall
temperatures cool again. Plants may
begin to grow dormant. And animals
might prepare themselves for the
upcoming cold weather, storing foods
or travelling to warmer regions.
Brilliant idea, Angielyn.
Lastly the Winter. Kindly read Aimae.

Aimae: Winter often brings a chill.

Winter is one of the four season and
the coldest time of the year. The days
are shorter and the nights are longer.
Winter comes after autumn and
Let’s give ten claps to Michelle,
before spring.
Sheenah, Angielyn, and Kriscelle.

Now, the effects of earth’s motion

plays an important role in our
everyday living. Do you agree?
Class: Yes we do!

Very good. Why do you think so then,

Jediah?
Jediah: For me climate and season
affect activities and our livelihood.
Our country has wet and dry seasons
only. These seasons affect our lives
because we should learn to adapt to
the different seasons we have.

Great job, Jediah. Let’s give her 5

claps.
Another idea. Yes Ariana?
Ariana: Safety and preparedness
during wet season is important so that
we are ready from any calamities.
Very well said, Ariana.

Generalization
Again class, what are the Effects of
Earth’s motion? Renalyn? Renalyn: Earth’s rotation and Earth’s
revolution, Teacher.
Daisy: Yes she is.
Is Renalyn correct, Daisy?
Excellent!

What is rotation and how much does

it takes? Yes, Navie? Navie: Earth’s rotation is the
movement of an object on its axis”. It
is also the reason why we experience
day and night. It takes 24 hours to
complete one rotation a day.

Very well said.

How about Earth’s revolution?

Queenie?
Queenie: Earth’s revolution is the
movement of an object around the
bigger object. It revolves on the
slightly flattened circle called
eclipses and it takes 365 days a year
to complete one revolution.
Class: Yes it is.
Is that correct class?

Let’s clap our hands together.

Impressive everyone you have really
learned a lot today! Say Hooray!
5. Application
