TESOL METHODOLOGY COURSE

TESOL​ stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. ​TESOL​ is designed
for people with little or no previous English language teaching experience or training. The
course is very practical and you will teach real language learners from the very beginning.

● Length:​ 16 days. From March 2 to March 23


● Schedules: ​14:30 - 17:30 / 19:00 - 22:00
● Hours: ​100 hours theory and teaching practice. At the end of the course the
student will learn teaching methodology, lesson planning, language analysis,
language skills, and how to deliver a lesson.

FIRST ORAL PRESENTATION

The student will be given a topic that has to be presented on ​Wednesday March 11​.The
topic and all the instructions will be given 48 hours before the day of the presentation . The
presentation will last ​5 minutes​.

NOTE:​ The student will not be given any score for doing this 5-minute oral presentation. It
will be considered as a trial test for the​ final oral presentation​.

ASSESSMENT

A​ TESOL​ Methodology course student will be assessed in the following skills:

* ​Oral​………………………….​20 pts. (Oral Presentation)


* ​Written​……………………...​80 pts. (Theory)
​TOTAL:​ ……………………​100 pts.

The highest grade a student can get is 100 points.


All those students who get 70 or more will get a TESOL Certificate awarded by the CBA.

TEST DATES:

● ORAL PRESENTATION: March 19, 20 and 23 Duration: 15 minutes


● WRITTEN (Theory): March 20 Duration: 40 minutes

FINAL ORAL PRESENTATION

The student will be given a lesson that has to be taught either on ​Friday March 20 or
Monday 23​ based on the theory and practice learned during the course. The topic and all
the instructions will be given 48 hours before the day of the presentation. The presentation
will last 15 minutes.

CBA TEACHER APPLICANTS MUST:

● get 80 or more as a final grade in ​TESOL​.


● have 100% of attendance
● be on time (punctuality)
● do all the tasks and assignments given during the course.
● have a positive attitude and commitment at the time of doing the different activities
that are carried out in the classroom.

REGLAMENTO ACERCA DE LOS ATRASOS A CLASES

Como es de su conocimiento de acuerdo al reglamento interno del alumno del C.B.A.


Cada alumno(a) tiene 5 minutos de tolerancia para ingresar al aula una vez toque el
timbre de inicio de la clase. ​Pasado los 5 minutos de tolerancia EL DOCENTE
DESCONTARÁ CINCO PUNTOS DE LA NOTA FINAL POR CADA ATRASO​.

En caso de que el alumno (a) llegue tarde a clases por motivo de estudio (clases en el
colegio, universidad, etc.) trabajo, o por otro motivo, se recomienda al alumno (a)
presentar una carta de solicitud de ingreso tarde a clases para que así pueda justificar y
no perder puntos por sus atrasos.

La carta deberá estar hecha en computadora, no se aceptaran cartas escritas a mano.

El formulario de solicitud de ingreso tarde a clase es gratuito y puede ser solicitado en las
ventanillas de inscripción.
La carta y el formulario de solicitud deben ser entregados en cualquiera de las ventanillas
de inscripción para su posterior trámite.

REGLAMENTO ACERCA DE LA ASISTENCIA A CLASES

Como es de su conocimiento de acuerdo al reglamento interno del alumno del CBA está
permitido tan solo tener dos faltas a clases. ​SI EL ALUMNO (A) TUVIERA TRES FALTAS
O MÁS NO PODRÁ RENDIR EXAMEN Y SU NOTA QUEDARÁ BLOQUEADA HASTA
QUE SOLUCIONE SU SITUACIÓN​. En este caso deberá presentar una carta junto con el
formulario de solicitud de licencia justificando el motivo por el cual no pudo asistir a clases.

El alumno (a) tiene 48 horas de plazo después de su última falta para presentar la carta
junto al formulario de solicitud de licencia.

La carta deberá estar hecha en computadora, no se aceptaran cartas escritas a mano.

El formulario de solicitud de licencia es gratuito y puede ser solicitado en las ventanillas de


inscripción.

La carta y el formulario de solicitud de licencia deben ser entregados al docente.
