Preface

The book is intended to provide a comprehensive coverage of 3D modelling using Pro/Engineer Wildfire.
Pro/ENGINEER is a leading CAD system used worldwide in all type of industries. The book covers part and
assembly modelling environments of Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire with a thorough explanation of commands,
options, and their applications to create real-world products. The book is designed to be used as textbook for
undergraduate engineering students of various technical universities and colleges and as a reference for the
practicing engineers. Various step by step tutorials have been included for easy comprehension of 3D modeling
concepts.
The book is organized into 6 chapters. The first chapter provides a fundamental coverage of engineering design
using Pro/Engineer wildfire. The second chapter covers sketcher environment in details as this is the backbone of
all other modules. The third chapter describes part modeling environment with the help of simple examples to
built solid foundation for other advance modules of the software. The chapter 4 covers surface modeling to extend
the modeling capability of the designers. The chapter 5 covers the assembly modeling. The chapter 6 revisits the
theoretical aspect of the part modeling concepts.
