1 The Basics
1.1 Tools required: PC、a standard direct network cable or cross network cable.
1.2 The WATO SERIES anesthesia machines contain WATO EX-55\65, EX-20\25\30\35.
1.3 The anesthesia Software include:

2 Install PC-based software: “SystemUpdateTool.exe”

2.1 double click the “SystemUpdateTool.exe”

2.2 Select the language for installation.

2.3 Click Next to continue the install program.

2.4 Input the SN: 26582640, and then click Next.

2.5 Choose destination location as you wish.

2.6 Click the Finish to complete the installation

2.7 Then you can find the below icon on the desktop.

3 Connect the PC and the anesthesia machine

3.1 Connect the computer and WATO with a standard direct network cable or cross network cable, The
net port is the icon in red as shown below:

3.2 Set the IP address of the Anesthesia Machine to “192.168.23.250”:

Go to “Maintenance”
”User Maintenance”
”IP Address Setup”
set the IP to

192.168.23.250
3.3 Set the IP address of the computer to “192.168.23.5” , subnet mask to “255.255.255.0”as below:

3.4 Switch on the machine, check the status of the local area connection at the lower right corner of
computer ( OR ). If the connection is unusual, please check the cable and ports.
4 Upgrade the software of the anesthesia machine
4.1 Double-click the “Mindray Anesthesia Machine Update Tool” icon on the computer

desktop.
4.2 Choose “Wato Series”, then click the “OK”.

4.3 Click the “select package”.

4.4 Click the button to select the update file in your hard disk, and click the

4.6 Switch on the anesthesia machine to start upgrade. Wait for a few minutes till you can see “Update
system successfully!” information on the PC screen.
4.7 Reboot the machine to check the software version of the machine.
4.8 Repeat the steps 4.3-4.6 to upgrade the other software.

Note:
1: For the machines with bios 2.0,you cannot upgrade the bios to 3.1, you can just upgrade the system to
03.00.01. If you want to upgrade the software upper than it, you need to change the CPU board also.
2: For the machines with bios 3.0, you can first upgrade it to 3.1, then the other software to the latest.
3: For the machines with bios 3.1, you can upgrade all to the latest software as table shows.

6 NOTICE:
 Before upgrade, please make sure the connection between PC and machine is well as the step 3.4.
 Before upgrade, please record the old software version of machine in case of recovery.

 Ensure that you click "Start (Single)" button first, then switch on the anesthesia machine to upgrade.
 For the machine with BOOT software Ver3.1, you can force it to “upgrade mode” by continue pressing any
key button when switch on the machine.
